Organizing Photos

    I've saved photos and files over the years on DVDs, USBs, Laptop, 2 Desktops and am now looking for some intelligent software that would help me save all files to one place. I know I have duplicate copies of loads of photos and files but am slow to delete anything in case I find it wasn't a duplicate.
    Ideally, I'd get a USB and put all photos and files on that. Software might automatically delete duplicate photos and files.
    I could back up this USB on one of several Hardrives I have. If software automatically updated back up that would be good too.
    Any help or suggestions appreciated.

    I've just been doing this today with a few old HDDs I gave. You need a duplicate finder + a folder organiser. This tools are great:

    With DIM, you can define the pattern you want for the photos / media ir organises. E.g %Y\%M-%A\%D would be 2019\08-Aug\12

    Dupeguru is simple but effective.


    Dont use a USB key as the primary source, flash media can be very volatile and if it lost part of its MFT that could mean hundreds of files disappear then that change would sync to your "backups".
