How long after a car bump can someone claim?

I had a minor bump in the car and put a very small scratch in someones bumper. I gave them my details but that was a few weeks ago and i have not heard anything. Brand new car, so id expect them to get it buffed out at least and get a call for £100 expense. Im just curious how long after an incident can someone call up and…

Three years from the date the claim accrued. But in practice if they are going to claim they will usually do so well before then.
