Accountancy qualification not used in current job

    Hi all,

If a person holds a recognised accountancy qualification for many years, but it is not used in their current daily work (i.e. a completely new & different line of work), is there any scope for retaining membership without completing CPD?

Happy to pay the annual subscription to keep up membership; however the cost of CPD courses would add up significantly.

Just wondering if any users had come across this scenario.

In the case of the ICAI, there are definitely options for a career break, however it really depend on who different your current job is from that where accounting knowledge would be used.
