The Tiviar is 1080p max ,its not 4k.

The Zgemma H7 is a much better buy than the Tiviar now.

Power Supply has gone in my Tiviar. Anybody know where I could get a replacement? Board says that it's a FSP - 7356 but can't find a replacement on google search.

    Thanks all.

Is the box under 2 years then you would have to contact them,i think you have to open up a ticket before sending it back and yes you have to pay, remove batteries from remote if posting that back also as postal service wont ship but destroy parcels containing batteries.

Mr Ink in Clondalkin should be able to repair it, very reasonably priced

Hang on. How do you know the PSB is gone - you have taken it apart and done a voltage check ?

Its not the fuse in the power lead by any chance ?

What makes you think its the PSB ? Bulging caps ?

If it is bulging caps you could replace them. I can see their values from this pic

    http://linux-tv.com/wp-content/uploads/tiviar_open.jpg

or ask Fortis/Formuler for one directly. https://www.formuler-support.tv/ They used the same PSB in a few of their branded STBs such as Ax etc.

    Hi STB,

No, caps are fine, I have 5 volts on board but no 12 volts. 220 volts to board is good. I suspect the 12 volt regulator is gone but don't have access to parts.

Get a harmony remote. The box doesn't have analog out, HDMI only

Does saorview work on this box?

Yes once connected to a suitable aerial.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,971 ✭✭✭greasepalm

Yes on any enigma2 box if correct tuner fitted.

Does saorview work on this box?

Yes. When set up correctly it allows you have Saorview and Freesat combined with full 7 day EPG and recording. It can also update the channels as the frequencies change over time.

I can't figure out the saorview.

I've an aerial in the attic with what I assume is a booster. It was there when I bought the house.

The sky engineer put a hybrid lnb on the dish that was there and we had sky for a year.

I bought the tiviar from a boardsie and it was all set up.
I'm getting the free foreign channels and can see the saorview ones listed but I've no picture.
The series connection is to tuner 2.
Should it be connected to the antenna on the box? Means getting a new connection on the cable.

Another question.. I've set up the WiFi but it's not connecting...any ideas?

    Thanks

Saorview needs an aerial To rf in.
How is the wifi used to connect as better with a direct lan cable

    Thanks :)

One more question, I went to record the news tonight on rte at 6, I set it to add auto timer but it only set it to record the news at six every Sunday, I assumed it would do it every day. How do I get it to record every instant of a show on a channel?

Go back in and edit the auto timer, all the parameters are flashed there before you for you to alter as you configure it. You'll get the hang of it.

On my e2 boxes i go to that channel and press the red button to bring up my epg of that channel, scroll down to program you want to record and press green and green again for 1 recording.
If you look at the setup you can set daily or weekly recordings if needed

There seems to be an f connection from the aerial box on the wall to the STB, tuner 2

Is there any way of splitting the connection to the aerial connection on STB.

    Its a hybrid lnb.

You will need a diplexer to split them back out if its not built into the socket plate

Curious he says its a hybrid lnb but is the box in the room a Sky Q box or a standard one,if its a Q box can a diplexer still work?

Ah, he needs to clarify, I took it since he mentioned aerial that his hybrid was UHF and satellite combined

    To clarify.
The previous owner had terrestrial .
I got skyq and the installer put s hybrid lnb on the dish.
I've now moved to a tiviar.

Seems to be an aerial connector and another cable both of which went into the sky q.
The cable from the connector is https://www.freetv.ie/male-coaxial-to-f-connector-cable/
