I hadn't noticed this thread, and a friend of mine has asked me to look for something similar, The Moto Z range with addon or this.
It is available from Sunsky and Teknistore for around €270 + shipping and VAT.
    Sunsky + DHL Express (2-4 working days delivery) = €283 + VAT €65 + DHL Handling (€15) = €363 TOTAL
There is a choice of shipping with them, and you could try PostNL, Royal Mail or Singapore Post and hope that it doesn't get stopped using those. Even if it did get stopped, it would still be a bit cheaper than DHL.
    Or
    Teknistore + Standard Shipping (6-10 days) = €273 + VAT €63 + Handling €12 = €348 TOTAL

Techradar gave a generally positive 4 star review and call Blackview " one of our favorite rugged smartphone makers "...

"The Max 1, for all its issues, is a very capable, modern, up-to-date smartphone that happens to feature an equally capable MEMS laser projector. Its general performance is solidly average, but with 6GB of RAM and 64GB on-board storage, it has more than a couple of years left in terms of hardware life expectancy."

found a review last night of a sony pico projector that was developed and or built by microvision , these are the same crowd that developed the MAX 1
still waiting for the new one and screen to arrive, very slow over there must be the revolution , yet the MAX 1 is still there updating and beeping away despite having a dead screen.

Cant access the memory via usb either as it has a screen lock on, even though the fingerprint scanner on the back is working .

    Destructive testing.

A friend of mine used to do it for a living, great job. He used to drop servers off a forklift to see what their impact tolerance was.

depends on your phone. I got a Samsung galaxy s5 that works with HDmi out. Other than that there are many 480 resolution mini projectors but the excelvan yg300 for 25 euro has worked for over 3 years, and it fits in the glove box.

Chromcast I guess would be your best bet.

It's for work meetings etc just instead of having to have a laptop to use a projector just one that could be handy to use with the phone, phone does have a hdmi output.

Looking for a cheap but decent lumen output.

Just opened and gave it a go for a few mins...

Have to say much better than I expected. I was getting excellent quality at 60-70" screen that too with day light coming through curtains and acceptable quality at 200" again with daylight coming through.

The speakers are not bad either, will do the job of your using in bedroom etc where theres no noise etc. If using in living room with more people, I highly suggest the Anker Soundcore 2 speakers which have a 12 hour battery life and are very good sound wise also.

I just used it with Youtube videos. 1080p at 60-70" was perfect quality with daylight coming in.

The software is a bit laggy but not too bad.

Will give it a go at night when I get a chance.

Thanks for the update, I’m still on the fence about this and the bloody thing is after going up in price on AliExpress now!!
Don’t suppose there’s any way to hook this up to a PS4? Probably not! Still very tempted by the silent running, battery life and mobility of this gadget!

As per earlier in the thread, I nearly pulled the trigger on the max 1 but figured I didnt need a phone (have a note 9) so I went with this https://www.lg.com/pa_en/projectors/lg-PH550G

Got it for £300 a couple of days before prime day. Think it dropped to 280 or so but it's gone up now. Very impressed. I have it on holidays with me. Watching stuff on a nice 100" screen straight to a white wall. Very impressed. It's about the size of a small book. Edit just to say i have it up over 150" now with no issue.:)

the phone is is athlone mails centre which has no direct phone number and so seems to be no way of contacting them except by snail mail. fecck.

    You could email Customer.Services@anpost.ie.
It's a bit hit or miss but sometimes it worked for me in the past.
    Nothing to loose.

An Post also has a "Customer Advocate" would you believe if they really mess you around.

Not many people know that as Michael Caine used to say!

You will get a letter to the address from Revenue asking to email proof of purchase. Which can be emailed , details on letter. Pretty quick after that.

Mine cleared customs on July 30th. Sitting in Dublin12 Mail Centre since last Wednesday 31st. Customs officers e mail says I pay the €66 owing to postman on delivery. Seems weird, I definitely don’t have to pay this fee online before its released do I?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,145 ✭✭✭paddy19

You pay the postman. Have the exact amount as I doubt they carry around change.

Quick question...should the pic be proper HD? I haven’t tried it on an actual projector screen now, just walls. Pics fine but defo not HD? Even when I go close I wouldn’t call it HD.
