Tooth extraction query

    So, got top wisdom teeth (l+r) taken out three years back. Top left tooth next to the wisdom tooth had a filling which fell out a few months after the wisdom tooth were taken out. The bit of tooth left was jiggly, and after a while, the top half of the tooth fell out.

    So, half a tooth still there. Was in Canada at the time, but back in Ireland now. Now pain, food "falls" into the hole at times, but other than that, all good. Was wondering what sort of op would be needed to extract the remaining bit of tooth? And could I just leave my mouth to heal over it like was done with my wisdom teeth? The usual dentist has retired, so can't get info from a usual source.

    I had a tooth broken down to the gum line before and expected all sorts of cutting gums open etc to get it out :D It was actually pain free to be honest, they use a much slimmer tool to get under the gum. Was in and out within 40 mins and pain/discomfort after was no different to a standard extraction (Maxilief is brilliant for any sort of ache).

    Cheers. Last tooth I had taken out, the dentist used a vice grips to pull it out! Was a weird sensation!

    Just the standard extraction cost, around 110e in my dentist.
