I think Alexa would be up there as well. I would find it hard to remember the last time she missed a week of tv. Even when injured they find something for her to do. She didn't have a match at Mania but got to host it.

As for tonight, I forgot it was the Reunion until I saw posts here today

Balor has been fairly well booked since his call up too.

Should we count Roman & Seth? Seth was the first NXT champ after the change from FCW.

Big E and Xavier too, Bray Wyatt... Big list of successes also

This show is just going to be a big 'moments' spectacle with older guys popping up

Cena appears out of nowhere and then Rikishi and then D von Dudley without Bubba Ray

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭seandotcomm

Shoulda came out as Reverend D'Von... like, what's the point without Bubba

Why the **** is D'von out here in the first place ??

The list of "Legends" that aren't dead, AEW'd or unable to walk properly is probably pretty short at this stage :/

Is jake the snake still the best wrestler of all time ;D

Well that was a big pile of $hite.

Wish I was as pissed as Austin right now

HHH and Michaels couldn't have looked more disinterested all night if they tried, my favourite part being the entire roster of "legends" going mad for Hogan and Michaels is there with hands in pockets and HHH barely acknowledges it.

I personally enjoyed the Samoa Joe and Roman segment and match and wouldn't mind it leading in to some kind of feud between the two, rest of the show was incredibly meh and poor with one or two cool blips, just my opinion though.

What channel is RAW on nowadays?

Utter garbage, I said on the thread last week that I wasn't looking forward to this reunion show because the Raw 25 show was terrible, this was even worse. Wish they'd stop wheeling out the old timers, seen enough DX reunions and Ron Simmons cameos to last a lifetime at this stage.

    ... DAMN :pac:

All joking aside, remember there was a video a few years ago of someone "asking" ron to say damn at a autograph signing and he says it really low?
... then it's revealed he charges people to say it. So he didn't want to say it too loud so he'd get other people in the que to pay him.

Stop being a fan when I read that.

i cant believe theres actually people who would pay to get him to say damm

Come on lads you can see why he charges:

    1) because he can
    2) it will stop every single person in the entire f*cking place asking him to do it

People still stay up until 4am to watch RAW.

Was very meh. Highlight for me was seeing these legends wheeled out flair, Hogan, HBK and Alica Fox. The heavy hitters.

I'm a bit confused by the Bray gimmick; is the good guy Bray side of the gimmick completely dropped or what?

    imo, you're both right! :pac:
As, just like in life, it depends on what side of the coin you're on.
Wrestlers are whores (you have to be it seems) you got a shelf life and a bump card. There will be a day when you're an old relic and an unknown so you might as well make as much money as you can (even kevin nash charged 20 bucks for an autograph back in the day!!!)

While on the flip side, you're a complete idiot paying someone 20 bucks for autograph or whatever ron simmons charged. Absolute idiot.

There's a few problems with nostalgia, mostly summed up by the phrase "diminishing returns".

One, I've seen most of these guys a lot in recent times. Seeing DX back together for, what, the third or forth time this year? That lowers the level of nostalgia I get. Each time they drag out these guys, it's less special.

Two....a lot of them are really showing their age, massively. the nWo look barely able to walk. That doesn't make me think "oh, it's awesome to see them back together!". It makes me sad. Nostalgia doesn't work if it makes you feel old and sad.

And three, there's a sizable portion of the audience (say, 18s and under) who never saw these guys at their pomp. The nWo formed over twenty years ago! Even if you were watching when you were three, these guys probably blew over your head. The longer it goes with bringing the same selection of nostalgia guys in from the 90s, the less the young audience will actually feel nostalgia for them, simply because for them, all these guys are are dancing bears that show up every few months, make fools out of the guys the younger fans have grown up with, and then vanish without a trace.

They are decent but diminishing nostaliga acts for people over the age of 30. For those under, I worry they aren't appealing at all? (Any of you young'uns wanna chime in on that?)

That was utter scutter. I never thought someone could dethrone Roman as the worst top guy but Rollins is doing it with ease. He is painful. Crowds feel like they are slowly beginning to turn on him too. There was groans when he beat Orton in the battle royal and again last night when Road Dogg handed him the mic. This does him no favours though...

Was Foley the only guy to get physical with a current guy and lose the exchange? Fair play. The rest of the decrepit egoists probably still feel the need to go over.

DX and Hall & Nash. What a sorry looking bunch. Bunch of uninterested auld fellas shuffling around.

Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres looked amazing.

    RVD looked rough.

One or two of the 24/7 segments were fun.

WWE is in such a sorry state creatively though. They're like Man United. Money coming out their ears but going through their worst period in 25-30 years.

Imagine growing up in a time when your exposure to DX was their 2006 run when they shoved Vince up Big Show's colon & the last memory of them was when Shawn come out of retirement in Saudi Arabia.

NWO being there was painful - coming out to The New Age Outlaws music (with only one half of the NAO and X-Pac) to basically destroy the faction they are trying to position as badass? Just pointless

Speaking of Styles/Gallows/Anderson.....The OC? REALLY? I spent the morning after hearing that singing this song in my head:

Not really the thing you want to associate with your Heel Faction :pac:

Kelly Kelly being back as a legend always just reminds me shes actually younger than most of the roster like charlotte and only days older than becky but she really is like a different generation of wwe compared to them

So austin managed to promote his beer and his upcoming podcast with Hogan.. i thought his promo was kind of a desperate plea for fans to stay with the product, the first time i recall them referring to the fans as "family" etc.. overall, thought they dropped the ball on this show.. ENOUGH of trodding out DX/NWO please.. the only somewhat interesting interaction we had with a legend and current guy was with Foley/Bray.. and sorry, but i just cant get behind Rollins as a top baby face.. he has a natural smarmy heel quality.. the role as top good guy simply is not working. Him as heel champ with Owens/Bryan chasing over a long period could be epic

Admittedly I've only read the spoilers online for Raw but it sounded absolutely dreadful, those Reunion shows just completely do nothing for the product, no storyline advancements, no used to the legends to promote newer talent, nothing... it's a waste.

Why did they not have KO and Austin interact, they should have had a stun off on Shane, anything, give the current batch a bit of a rub at least... well at least Bray got something.
