    Not sure where to put this, got a cheque today from three. I was a three customer for 14 or 15 years and missed a payment sometime in either 2016 or 2017 according to the letter. The letter said that had a missed direct debit and I imagine I paid a missed direct debit fee...the cheque was for 12.50.


    The question is, has something happened about missed direct debits and the paying of certain fees or is this specific to Three or some kinda ruling. Just unexpected and obviously the amount is nothing to talk about but I am curious to there being a ruling or something from Comreg?

    The letter said after discussions with Comreg it was decided to do this...

    There charge €5 for missing a DD well they used to, your bank probably charged you another €7.50. Probably popped up in an audit. Buy a lotto ticket.

    Damn, I tore up the letter, it just said roughly, mentioned 2017 and 2018 and mentioned direct debit returned fee and said after discussions with Comreg we have decided to refund you. The letter included a cheque for 12.50 from Hutchinsons which I presume is the parent company.

    Yeah I just thought that with Comreg being involved there is a ruling about returned direct debit charges, that they cannot charge or charge too much or something. Might mean something to someone.
