Yes, I've a balance of around 7 usd on it now with relatively unobtrusive ads (and still batting down the really intrusive ads on the web generally). They came up with an excellent concept for sure.

Do you have to provide an address to receive payment for the ads that you view?

Install the browser and click on the rewards tab. There is no ID aspect to it (nor should there be!). Follow the process and setup a BAT wallet. It's childsplay (keeping your wallet key safe isn't childs play - but we're only talking about a 5 year olds pocket money here).

Thanks, Is it suitable to use as your main Browser. Have you noticed any drawbacks with it.

Just to note that we can't earn BAT for viewing ads in Ireland yet, it should be released by the end of the year. However you do get occasional grants but these are only for tipping creators and are not yours to withdraw.

The browser is great and I now use it as my main one on both desktop and Android. However, you do have to do some tweaks for some sites to work.

I have also invested in some Bat.

Good luck with getting the government to cut it. The coming carbon taxes are going to be substantial and the overall level of taxation will remain high.

We've only been a low tax economy for one particular grouping.

Happens all the time in finance. I've seen banks meant to do a wire transfer for e.g. a million, some tired back office person on a friday evening tacks on a few zeros by mistake, and a billion flows out by mistake.

Some alts are almost back at Xmas levels, and most others seem to be heading in that direction

Yep, it is telling that while the BTC price is dropping, BTC dominance is actually increasing.

Now to be honest, it is unlikely but if 90% of altcoins were to die in the short term I wouldn’t mind. IMO having too many actually slows down crypto adoption as it completely fragments the offer while in reality a lot of them are very similar in functionality.

IOTA is one of the most tragic - now ranked 18th and behind garbage like DASH and Cardano.

Is there a site where you can view all Currencies by Category such as Network Coins, Payment Coins, Utility/ Token Coins etc.

It would be interesting to see who is competing with who. I think many of these ALTs will die because too many are competing for the same market. It will be interesting to see if Libra decimates the payment coins. Maybe a privacy coin like Monero or Zcash will make it along with Libra.

The same applies to the Networking coins. How many can compete with Ethereum and hope to survive.

Exchange coins, BNB, Huobi, are holding on though - but market faith is definitely slipping from the alts for now

They (espacially BNB) are the ones about which I am the more optimistic in the short to medium term. As opposed to many altcoins they have some sort of proven utility and they are backed by powerful players who have a vested interest in keeping them afloat. For exemple Binance are able artificially increase BNB’s utility by offering cheaper transaction fees for other cryptos bought with BNB and thus making BNB useful as the most economical way to trade on the world’s largest cryptoexchange. And also since then have a vested interest in BNB price going up they have this policy to regularly burn some supply to increase scarcity.

    Why is Dash garbage?

    I agree with you.

The only demonstrated use for crypto so far has been buying drugs or other illegal/immoral stuff on the dark Web. Outside of that it has just been speculative gambling. The privacy coins will probably survive along with the digital gold BTC. The rest are thrash.

I don't mean to be smart, but are you ok with the fact all your 'investments' could prove worthless in time - i.e. are you only betting what you can afford to lose?
