You can only play on if your guess is correct and you still have guesses free. Your number of guesses per round is equal to the number he gives plus 1.

e.g If he gives a clue of clueword 2, it relates to two words and you have three guesses total (this is useful for going back to previous clues you might have missed). Also the guesses you pick don't have to relate to the current clue if you think you know a bunch of previous words you missed.

If he gives clueword unlimited, you have unlimited guesses but you don't know how many words might relate to the clue.
