A visible “edge” to the show tonight, not sure if it’s actually an improvement though.

That Maria and Mike stuff was....odd.

Calling up Street Profits to join the rest of the tag teams in the Raw Catering Division is low key racist as it was only done because Private Party got over big time at Fyter Fest.

That Holy shít comment was so unnatural. Waiting ten seconds after the event killed any impact it should have had.

Like, Corey knows he's not supposed to say this stuff on air. He has ten seconds to think of something to say. He's not going to say Holy Shít. Had it been done immediately after the move, it would have some more natural and unforced, an exclaimation in direct reaction to what just happened.

and that is one of the many reasons why I just can't handle the Undertaker.

    same sh different decade.

He's been embarrassing himself for more than a decade now.

The "fellow kids" energy of the entirety of last nights Raw was pathetic.

Yep. Why doesn’t he just retire. He’s not an attraction anymore, that allure died when the streak did.

Indeed. Although for me it was long before the streak ended. Hes been hospitalised after a couple of wrestlemanias now.

He gave an interview out of character YEARS ago, around about the time he was Biker Taker, and he said he'd walk away when he felt he wasn't able to do it any more. He didn't want to be one of those old guys stumbling around the ring.

I wonder what changed? Its not like he needs the money, becuase apparently, he's been quite smart with his earnings, with investments etc. I'm sure having JBL as a bestie would be beneficial in this regard also

I seem to remember reading a while back that he felt after the reigns mania match and after leaving the gear in the ring that if he returned, he wanted to return as biker undertaker but vince talked him out of it, maybe that could have worked for him but unfortunately the pop for the 1st gong is as good as it gets now for him

Just seen that strowman lashley spot, everything from the sparks pyro to graves shouting holy sh*t was just so meh, then they're able to use the screens again for the entrances, surely health and safety were called to make sure everything was ok to continue

They are clearly looking to the past to try get them forward. The quick matches often with messy finishes, a Strowmeme spot, 24/7 angles, commentators going "off script", that Mike & Maria crap & Undertaker doing his old schtick.
I guess its resonating with a lot of fans who looked for that. For better or for worse they tried.

    Typical WWE to be fair.

They try to hard and rush everything and make balls of everything

Fùck the Club and that too sweet crap. Some half-arsed attempt at a stable from 4 or 5 years ago.

AJ isn't going to elevate those two goofs, they're going to drag him down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,453 ✭✭✭ThePott

Well I guess I'm in the minority then. I thought this was a pretty good Raw.

Yeah, it was trying to be edgy a bit but thought the opening was pretty cool. The Maria stuff was trashy but I think it could be fun storyline. Have they screwed up the Club before, yeah but if it means a heel AJ and G&A actually doing something I'm all for it.

It wasn't boring which is more than I'll say for most of Raw lately. Some people are never satisfied. I hope the Street Profits don't get called up properly though

I really enjoyed that episode tbh.

I said two weeks ago that I really liked the focus on undercard characters. In retrospect, that seems to line up with Heyman coming on board. But it was there again tonight. A lot of “minor” characters actually getting time.

People will be Pomona the Kanellis stuff but I’d say they were happy to get time against the top champs. The Good Bros getting a main event story, which is helping boost Richochets character. The Drake/Truth stuff. Cesar’s looking like. Boss.

Whatever the reason, and however effective it might be long term, there’s a sense they have realized they have a diverse roster to call upon each week, and they should be using it.

The Taker/Shane stuff can die a death, mind.

I think Taker bleeds WWe. I think if Vince Asks him to do something, Taker won’t says no. He’s an “old pro” who will wrestle from his death bed if asked. He should be strong enough to say no, and Vince should have the cop on to stop asking.

A seperated pelvis for strowman, that should be enough to keep him out at least a month, possibly longer

even Taker adding legitimacy to Shane being the 'Best In The World' by saying it in his shítty promo grated me.

he, and WWE, can go fúck themselves.

The Club thing is so cringey. The actual Bullet Club have been fairly stale for a good while now, typical WWE doing something a good three and a bit years too late.

Tbf when HHH was with them last weekend it was somehow even worse.
I feel Styles is above sharing the screen with the other 2 who I think were running around after Truth with the catering crew a few weeks ago.

Their contracts are coming up for renewal soon.

This is going to become a pattern. We'll see random guys being given the spotlight for a few weeks/months and then being buried again once they re-sign for 5 years.

Corey saying "holy sh!t", Maria calling Mike her "b!tch", the pregnancy thing. It is like they're trying to be edgier for whatever reason. Is it because of Heyman, a reaction to AEW or just trying something new/old?

Didn't see the point of having Street Profits there.

And for the Mike and Maria thing, I know they wanted Seth and Becky to have a match against someone, but apart from anyone who watches 205 Live or just remembers them from pre WWE days, who actually knows who they are? Though they managed to get a good reaction, so they made an impact.

They're falling into a predictable match making method. Match takes place, there's interference, match now includes the people interfering. Like who didn't see the New Day/Raiders match becoming 6 person match when Joe and Kofi showed up, with Joe getting a bit confused about which corner New Day were in? Then knew Nikki was going to fight Carmella.
I think Carmella learned from all her time with Truth: A rollup is an effective pin.

Speaking of Truth, no longer champ. And Drake seems to have done well for himself and I don't just mean winning the title

It's because Private Party have a mildly similar act and they had a great match at Fyter Fest.
