You have to play every team at some point so it's all the same really, but that said you prefer to have a nice start to help get some momentum and Norwich at home on a Friday night is a really nice way to kick off the season

    CL Matchdays thrown in too

Playing Chelsea, Spurs and City after a champions league game means it just depends on who is doing the most travelling.

It will probably be swings and roundabouts there, one week we will have the advantage, another week we will be at a disadvantage.

The Champions league matchdays have been kind. We will either be palying a team also in the CL or a very winnable game. Up to the semi final that is. The 4 fixtures around then are very tough (2 CL & 2PL).

Glad we'll have a game against City at the end of the season if its tight again instead of hoping they drop points.

Couldn't really care about anything else how the fixtures land, have to play them at some point.

Must beat City at home early in the season.

Will all these dates change when the tv stations get their hands on them?

    Decent Christmas period for us.

As Jurgen would say....it's all about Norwich.

Spurs, United and Wolves in January could be tough.

    Plus F.A. Cup

So, starting team for Norwich, if no First XI signings?

    Alisson
    -Trent--Gomez--Virg--Robbo-
    Fab

    Hendo----Ox
    --Salah---Firmino---Mane---

Bench: GK, Matip, Milner, Keita, Gini, Shaq, Origi

Initial thought - defo need a full back if losing Clyne and Moreno, can't keep relying on Milner there.
I presume Migs goes and we need someone in, I'd go for Nick Pope.
CM is perfect as is, but we need another goalscorer, REAL competition for the front three. I would keep Wilson, see if he can push the wide players in a way that Shaq hasn't really done. It looks like Lukaku is going to Inter and Conte wants rid of Icardi -

    - could that start a chain event of moves?

i would play a 2nd string in the CL game before City at home provided we have a easy enough group.

The only advantage to be gained by fixture congestion is by clubs with large squads of quality players, ie City will not be as badly impacted as LFC.

I just realised last night that Salah, Firmino, Mane & Alisson all have an international tournament this summer so may not be around for the Charity Shield or UEFA Super Cup.
The former is August 4th & the latter is the 14th. They've probably no chance of playing the Shield game tbh.

I'd be happy for you to tog out for the shield game to be honest.

After we play City on April 4 we definitely have the tougher run in. Their run in looks very straightforward.

Anyway long way to go until we reach that point.

Any rival fan that tries that from now on (or at least for another year or two :D) will receive the utter disdain they deserve!

Liverpool considering scrapping Anfield friendly with Schalke 04 on Tuesday, August 6 because it’s too close to opening PL fixture v Norwich on Friday, August 9. Sky Sports unaware of any request from club to avoid that Friday slot. @TimesSport

I love Friday night kick-offs, so much better than noon on a Saturday which never suits.

    Roma looking to buy Karius.

That would be really unfair in them after we stole Salah and Allison...

Seriously though, he had a pretty good season by the looks of things. Best of luck to him.

Had forgotten Amazon are screening the Premier League from now on. Bit of a bizarre deal, all they've got is 20 games for the season and 10 of them are being broadcast simultaneously on Stephens Day

City have such an easy run in on paper. We have a daunting one.
