If we had just beat Everton or Utd we would have won it by a landslide. Disappointing to have to make do with a champions league. I'll be expecting improvement next year.

No monkey9 is spot on. The only game where Liverpool could have got exactly 1 extra point was versus Man City. If they got that, Man City drop 2 points, so Liverpool finish top.

You're dead right, I can't see why there could be any other outcome. One more point against city and we would've won the league.

    Simples:)

Post from me on the 11 of August 2018 which I think aged well :)

There were plenty people here saying below.

I'm usually wrong with these things but this year got it right, hooray for optimism

"I don't get some posters saying here with the likes off "if we finished 4th and had a good run in Europe I'd be happy".

That's what we done last year but this season our squad is far stronger whilst a few other squads around us have basically stayed the same.

Surely we can expect an improvement this season other wise what's the point.

For me I would only be satisfied with at least 2nd place and 1 cup win, am I allowed to expect this or am I delusional"

6 minutes of uncut action following Klopp after the final whistle.

    6 Times.

VVD's look at Klopp and his bearhug of Klopp was made in Blackpool and over Skype.

Alisson and Klopp are in love.

A extra long hug and a little word in the ear of Son I notice!!

Haha, love the way Robertson's arm got caught between Hendo and Klopp as well. :D:D
Brilliant to see him hug the opposition too. Lucas and Son got some extra love.

Son would be a perfect fit at Liverpool.

An apparently leaked image on Twitter of the first weekend of Prem fixtures has the Pool away to Burnley.

I'm pretty sure it this started from a post saying Liverpool lost by one point. Scenarios aside, it's still correct to say we lost it by 2. So in essence both are not incorrect, but we really didn't need personal digs over it.

The bookies would say something like a point and a half (because goal difference) if we got two points extra it'd have been a win.

'Leaked' fixtures are always made up and never to be looked at.

Fixtures get announced on Thursday, and then weeks later the TV companies decide what games they want. Don't believe any of the 'leaked' rubbish.

Nothing would allow me to look forward to next season more than that departure.

    Fingers crossed.

Think I'd rather see a defender come in before I see one leave, tbh. Who's fourth choice if he leaves?

EDIT: Can someone in Tech PLEASE sort out the reply button on the mobile version??!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Lol, fake is fake can be.

Sure BT have the 12:30 Kick offs and Sky have the 17:30 Kick offs.

Sunday games are now 14:00 and 16:30 Kick offs

But......but......but it was on Twitter, it must be real.

If we can beat Burnley and go three points clear of City we'd have to be favourites for the league......t'would be a right bottle job if we didn't see it through from there.

That would be a big bottle job, being 3 points clear after 1 game and not winning the league with 37 games to go

All jokes aside I really hope we can carry last seasons form into next year. A lot of sides in transition- Chelsea, Arsenal, UTD. Can't see city having a massive dip in form after their last 2 seasons. Can't have been easy on the players to put so much into last years PL campaign and come away with nothing to show for it! Hopefully they'll have a spring in their step after the CL win!

It'll be interesting to see when the City games are scheduled.

I'd rather get the away game played very early, before they build up momentum.
Then the home game in March in a midweek game under the lights, basically turning it into a European game.

December/Jan with the World club cup might be a bit of a challenge - hopefully the fixtures around then are kind.

The important piece from our perspective is that we all act outraged when we get knocked out of the League Cup and FA Cup early.

Liverpool should be playing Man City away 1st this season, but we will find out tomorrow.

Getting knocked out of the League Cup early would help later as when Liverpool are playing in the World Club Cup, one of the games it would clash with is a League Cup QF.

But klopp should be putting out his strongest team in the league cup cuz he needs to win something! Oh wait....

Brewster will play the League Cup game(s) I would think. Ox, Shaqiri, Keita, maybe Curtis Jones. Possibly Hoever again.

TBH, I only see it as a competition to play lads into form, young lads, and try out some new ideas. The fact that it's on the season at the same time as Club World Cup only further backs that up.

If we didn't win the CL last year or have such a strong league campaign, then I would be asking to try win it but that has changed now. We have to keep challenging for the PL & CL as a priority. Then the FA Cup. The League cup remains the lowest priority to me.

I'd also add Spurs to the group of teams in transition albeit a different type of transition. They had a terrible end to the PL, the run to the CL final gave them a huge boost but ultimately it will have been a huge disappointment so it'll be interesting to see if Levy loosens the purse strings to straighten and rejuvenate the squad or if he allows Rose and possibly Trippier to walk and only sanctions mediocre replacements in order to keep the wage structure in place.

Despite being a Spurs boy through and through I can't see Kane hanging around for too long if having had a taste for the CL final he doesn't think there's a chance can get back there again.

This summer is a real crossroads for Spurs. Do they kick on or tread water and effectively fall back?

    Where would Kane go ?
I only see him fitting in at United but they would need to get there act together to convince him to join , I'd say Chelsea but Spurs to Chelsea is not likely
