I've been using Edge for a long time now. Very fast and built-in adblocker (you have to turn it on though, it's off by default).

Same here, switched from Chrome to Edge ages ago as it seemed noticeably faster. Tried Fenix for a day or so but went back to Edge.

Can anyone recommend an internet browser?
Have been using lightning and loved it but

I have being using Samsung browser on non Ssmsung phone the past few months, find it excellent, fast, has options for ad blockers, task bar at bottom,. Previously I used Brave for over a year but they wrecked it with an update earlier this year.

That's the 2nd or 3rd time I have seen Edge mentioned within the past week. I haven't tried it yet, but going to have to now.

Samsung Internet (Beta), Kiwi and lately Yuzu all seem to be preferred too.

Brave seems to have lost most of the users it lost, to Kiwi.

Is there any browser compatible with google bookmark syncing? I don't need adblock as i'm using nextdns.io on Android Pie but i'd like a browser faster than chrome but need my bookmarks to sync

What's the big issue with Chrome's speed? Is it known to be slow for some reason. I find the lite mode to be very helpful at times when I'm in an area with low connectivity. Haven't used a different browser on android in years.

It's no slower, people just have a ber on them about it because it's Google's and Google are the biggest sworn enemy of all mankind.

Thanks for this, have tried it there and it looks good. The main thing I miss from lightning is the swipe for bookmarks and tabs. Just don't get the love for chrome

I've no problem with Google services in fact I bet there's nobody as connected to Google as me. Chrome is slower on a dodgy connection which is something I can't help at times. I've tried the others and they are faster but I want my Google bookmarks to sync.

I've not tried the lite version, didn't know it existed

Rather than having much love for chrome I'd just be looking for some pretty obvious reasons to move away from the default browser especially when I'm pretty deeply entrenched in the Google ecosystem.

Can't see anything wrong with the tab gestures in chrome and same with accessing bookmarks.

If there are other browsers innovating beyond what Chrome does then I'd have no problem checking them out, whether that's speed or some other form of improvement.

A lot of the ones mentioned have built in adblocking, allow for a lot of customisation and include nightmode, tabbed browser keeping pages, and have password protected icognito mode allowing you to continue without losing wherever you were browsing among other things. They also sync with Chrome and Firefox for your profile/bookmarks etc.

I've been using Opera for quite a while. Adblocker included & I like the favourite buttons on the home screen. Can bundle them into folders with category names. Just my own personal preference.

I didn't have the Octopus etc..
Mine was similar to the Pokemon app, used augmented reality.
Hot air balloon messages, kites, bottles (if you were beside water) and basically anything that the weather report could randomly take somewhere in a virtual world, so people at the other end would use their smart devices augmented reality to find them. See something wash up or a kite that had landed etc..

I still think it's decent.. :D (needs work)
Never thought I would see anything even similar, but I don't know why I'm so surprised..

Bromite browser and system web view. A little peace of mind. I haven't been using them long but find them very good.

I like it, but not many using it yet. And idiots are treating it like fuking tinder. Grrr.

Guys looking for the ride, women looking for white knights. Idiots.

I received the same persons bottle twice, few I've sent out are sitting in people profiles and they look to have deleted app so bottle stays there and sinks after 5 days.

    It's getting there.

I heard an app called GoLoud being advertised on the radio last night.

Seems like a very slick app from Communicorp. It has all of their stations to stream live (Newstalk, TodayFM, Spin, 98FM, OTB), podcasts (including the ability to download, queue and play offline), and themed music playlists (chill, rock, pop, workout, roadtrip etc.)

Pretty slick in fairness. Nicely done.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ie.communicorp.goloud

    Also on iOS.

Definitely slick and nice to use. Much easier to navigate the Listen Back material than the god-awful Today FM and Newstalk websites but f**k me, the sound quality on Listen Back is almost unlistenable.

33 temporarily free and 39 on-sale apps and games to finish the week

    [Play] Harry Potter: Wizards Unite
^^^ Available today in UK/US. Made by the same makers as Pokemon Go, so probably won't work on rooted devices?

For anyone who was using Hullomail voicemail they are doing away with their free service, so you'll either need to pay or move to new service/back to carrier service. You probably got the email from them but just in case.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

IFTTT might have a similar service (I would guess it has a few).

Grimvalor is well worth it for a very high quality game on Android.

offline so no need for connection (except download)

first act of 5 is free to play then it will ask you to pay for the rest of the game

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.direlight.grimvalor

the touch controls are very good but of course it would be even better if you have a controller.

Any similar service out there for free? I guess 8.99 per year isn't OTT but not sure I want to pay for voicemail.
