I think I heard the Buttery won paid another award last week, so they're doing fine.

Mejana would be good for their choice of hot and cold mezzes, even if not exactly tapas.

Fixed your post there. Most of those "awards" are anything but.

Was just about to post similar.
The vast majority of retail and hospitality awards are very much pay to play ;)

I was in the Co op in Raheen and went into the cafe attached to it for breakfast. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was very good. I will go back there again

Used to go for breakfast there years back when working out that side, was always amazing! Good to hear it's still going strong.

Had lunch in the Greenyard attached to Punches yesterday, had the Greenyard burger and the other half had the Halloumi stack. Both were very tasty and enjoyed. A nice spot and not too busy either.
Punches Bar looks nice and compact, some interesting art and decent sized TV's as well.

Love this place. My go to spot for weekend brunch, never disappoints.

Was in the Hi-Way on Saturday night and got the two for €26 deal. Or so we thought! Turns out they're now only doing that deal on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and naturally this doesn't include bank holiday Mondays.
Was quite annoyed because there's absolutely nothing whatsoever on the menu or on the screens outside to say that this has changed.

In the last few months, it's jumped from €22 to €24 and then €26. Also you used to get a decent size dish of side salad with your main course and this has also disappeared. It's now just a tiny bit of salad on the plate. The bowl of chips has definitely shrunk too.

Won't be rushing back anytime soon. That's another one to strike off the list.

I live a 2 minute walk away and always forget to go there. Food is always top notch. We try to support locally owned/Irish businesses as a rule and go to town by default and manage to forget the local local place as a result. Must rectify that going forward.

Last time I'll set foot in Olio and Farina. Bald guy in there is pig ignorant.

Blanks customers, never heard please or thank you and you won't get an answer out of him by doing same.

The young male server is rude as hell. Put me off going in there. The young girl and owner are lovely.

That the fella that fancies himself as a poet? Total knob. I avoid the place too over that guy.

That place went down hill big time a few years back!

Went to Bia (at the Milk Market) on Saturday morning for breakfast, and was really impressed. They've done a nice job on the premises, staff are very sound, and the menu is reasonably priced. I wasn't feeling overly adventurous, so went for the full Irish (includes boxty) and found it to be a cut above the average offering. I know a full Irish is fairly standard, and can be hard to get it wrong, but this stood out. Meat (sausages, rashers, pudding) was quality, and was cooked well (not cremated as is par for the course in some places!), and the mushrooms, beans, etc were all spot on, with the boxty being the icing on the cake. Will be back again.

I was in 'The Milk Thistle Kitchen' in Mungret College yesterday for lunch and had a lovely Goats cheese and Roasted Veg bagel.
I have been here about 6 times in the last year and food and service has been excellent everytime.

What is that priced at including coffee and toast ?

Think it was 12 quid. That was for the "biggest" Full Irish (not the "mini" option), which is fairly substantial. The toast is sourdough too, although I'd imagine you can request other types of bread

I must run in and try it when I'm next in town. Do you get a pot of tea with it?

I went to Bobby Byrnes at the weekend, it was very good. They have a new menu which is decent.

They can change the sign on that place as much as they like, it will never be good.

Think it’s Brimstone owners just under a new name and a late night bar
The late night bar is rough by all accounts

Those brothers seem to have had a lot of businesses and not very much success.
