They’ll be back in pot 1 when City are chucked out for a year!

Weirdly, I think if that did actually happen, Benfica would jump from Pot 3 to Pot 1, as champions of the next highest ranked league!

That being said, I can't for the life of me understand why Benfica are in 3, while Porto are in 2... would have thought being champions would outrank team coefficient. Would be a great FU from Benfica to stroll up past their rivals to a much easier draw though!

Can anyone see us signing a big player this summer?

You'd be terrified about standing still obviously but can't shake the feeling it'll be two out and maybe two "useful" players in.

I don’t think we will be signing any star players as such, the more reliable journalists are all peddling the same story, that we are happy with our squad bar the odd tweak here and there.

That being said, we were never signing Alisson in a million years either last year according to these same guys and none of them even suggested Fabinho's name until he was announced on the Liverpool website.

I’ve noticed our name is being thrown back into the De Ligt conversation in the last 24 hours alright. We were 15/1 to sign him yesterday and now we’re nearly 3/1.

But I’ve read 3 different articles from 3 different papers today on De Ligt. In one he had it narrowed down to United and Barca, in another he had it narrowed down to Liverpool and PSG and in another he had it narrowed down to Barca and PSG

So to answer your question, we have no idea what’s going on, which I’d imagine is exactly how the club likes it

All we know about our transfer business this summer is that we know nothing, remember last summer? The journos were clued in on exactly nothing, transfers were done quietly and announced before a rumour was mentioned. There was never any talk linking Fab to the club and then he was signed and announced 48 hours after the Champions League final.

I won't be taking interest in transfer rumours until it's confirmed. You hear so much bull**** and it just generates ****e talk amongst fans.

    Charity Shield.

    European Super Cup.

    World Club Cup.

    League Cup.

    FA Cup.

    League.

    European Cup.

7 trophies up for grabs next season and a possible 60 plus games if they go deep in all the cups.

With Mane, Salah, Keita, Alission, Bobby all playing in major tournaments this summer that don't finish till mid July there won't be much time for rest for them considering they are also coming off playing in the World Cup last summer as well.

Another reason to build up the squad with a few new arrivals during the summer.

Yup. That stat of the lineup in the final being the first time that specific 11 had ever started together is a testament to the quality of rotation in midfield in particular - need to create that level of depth everywhere for this coming season.

To see what studge wrote about the fsg guys was a eye opener in a good sense, they actually seem like great people, rare a player singles out the owners and speaks as if they are friends and mentors.

If we win the first four I'm not calling it a quadruple.
    Probably.

When is Community Shield date likely to be confirmed? I’d like to see a match in Wembley, but would hope to fly in and out same day.

Seeing as Chelsea won the Europa league does that mean the PL gets an extra CL spot for next season?

No, because they finished top 4, had Arsenal won it then yes there would have been 5 English teams.

Apparently we are in pole position to land Pepe according to Lequipe.

Are they one of the ones who write about any old rubbish?

If Brazil get to the final of the Copa it's on July 7th so Alisson and Bobby will miss most if not all of pre season.

If Egypt or/both Senegal get to the final of the ACON which is on July 19th they may miss the start of the season.

Let's be honest poor Keita is going to be knocked out early so he should get in the second half of pre season.

    Unless he fakes an injury.

Maybe we were all wrong all along! :o :pac:

I for one have certainly changed my tune regarding the owners in the last 12-18 months.

I also thought ACON's was to skip a tournament or something like that and go in line with the European Championships?

Brazil are big favourites, for the Copa America, especially on Brazilian soil, so expect them to go all the way to the final in that one.

Senegal are also favourites for the AFCON, so expect them to get to that final also. And! The AFCON is on in Egypt, with Egypt as 2nd favourites, so they should probably go deep into the tournament also.

Origi and Brewster will have the chance to show they are a hot pairing this summer :)

I would pay little attention to any of the journalists and what they have to say about Liverpool's transfer business tbh.

Been proven time and time again over the past few windows that they know very little, and are only privy to information when the deal is done and the club informs them, or if a deal has been leaked from another country, such was the case with Keita.

Liverpool massively clamped down on all the transfer rumour in the past 18-24 months after the original VVD mess, and I don't expect us to hear much until deals are more or less finalised.

Only Pot 1 matters for Champions if you are not in Pot 1 then Pot 2 to 4 is done on coefficient

Yep fairly sure it was split between those who could see what they were doing, those who were critical of them...

    Classy message from Sturridge.
No problem with Lallana staying on either, great player to have around the squad, understands our systems and adds a bit of a different dimension on the pitch.
Brewster hopefully will start to make a breakthrough as well.

I've seen some lad Pepe (not that one) been mentioned a few times in transfer rumours, scored 10+ goals last season in France, is he any use though?

I'd ignore that article - it links Pepe with Salah leaving which is obviously nonsense.
