Anyone have experience before of going to the pubs in Slane village before the gig?

I want to see Tyrone v Donegal at 5pm but I'd imagine everywhere will be wedged.

Was considering watching it in Navan but it would be running it tight for making it in before Metallica go on stage.

Does anyone know of any transport availability to get to Slane from Dublin? Almost everywhere looks to be sold out. Marathon Coach hire is the only place I can find but only availability is 10:30 or 16:30 which aren't great times. There's 2 of us.

You could get a train to drogheda and the bus from there, that’s what we did for GNR and will do again for Metallica

Yeah it was at GnR anyway, we were in the pubs in the village on the Friday. Not much was open though.

There's a Romayos chippers that was cleaning up

Were the pubs much craic? We are staying the Friday/Saturday night with friends in the village so looking forward to a few scoops.

assume you ll need some form of id to move to and from the village, due to its closure?

Not doubting your word, and hopefully they have, but you didn't see it, as it hasn't been set up yet?

Called MCD yesterday and zone A won't be setup.

Not really, it was really hot weather so people were happy to be outside.

If the weather is to be dodgy Friday they might be better craic this year.

Oh. Controversy now with people having paid less than the other standing tickets.

As if MCD will give two fcuks. The tickets sales for this have been appalling. They could easily move this to the RDS and still not fill it. They have to do something to fill in the gaps.

That clown hasn't a clue how many tickets have been sold.

He's in literally every Slane thread giving out because he had to queue for a pint back in 1985.

    About 60/70K have been sold,
Not as many as GnR but not poorly either

If MCD are saying 75000 that means about 60K usually

All soundings are that it's sold well.
not hundreds of tickets available for comps and its in 4 days.

Compare it to T.Swift for example

There was an article in the Irish Times stating that 75,000 were expected.

    Sounds like solid reasoning ;)

It's closed to the extent that unless you have a pass, you can't go into the shops, pubs etc. and rightly so IMO.

anyone know where you'd pick up some hiking boots around Dublin? Much better than wellies and looks like they'll be needed.
