Sturridge and Moreno are officially leaving this summer.

So long, farewell. I wish them well.

Moreno wont be short of options but it'll be very interesting to see where Studge ends up he will have to take a huge wage cut ,
I hope he leave England cause you know he'll score against us ,

Some nice comments from Klopp on both:
“Alberto is a person whose personality is reflected in how he plays. Full of life, full of energy, always positive. An unbelievable character who is always willing to give all of himself for the team.

“I know this season, and the end of the last, maybe the minutes on the pitch he would have wanted and deserved were not there, but his contribution did not diminish. How he was in training kept the entire group on their toes. Albie is world class and I know he will be back in the Spain national team in the not too distant future.

“Daniel has earned the right to be considered a modern-day Liverpool great, I would think. He came to the club while we were trying to rebuild and re-establish ourselves. Some of the goals he has scored for Liverpool were so, so, so important.

“He is one of the best finishers I have ever seen in my life. He scores goals you think could and should not be possible.

This was long expected and I hope they both do well, wherever they end up.

Alberto will head back to Spain and Sturridge will probably go to Villa.

Wonder if Moreno will actually end up at Barcelona after all those rumours? Stranger things have happened in football.

He wouldn't even be the strangest defender Barca signed in the last few years. Vermaelen?! ...

Moreno makes some bit of sense for Barca - they need to add players to the squad and have some big money targets in mind so if they can plug some gaps without spending big money, why not? He'll play as back up to Alba and then make way for Cucurella or some other young player in two or three years, I'd say.

I wonder will Sturridge get a long ban for gambling that will lead him to have to go abroad to continue playing.

FSG looking into expanding the Anfield road end taking capacity past 60,000 for the stadium.

No one can deny how talented Danny was, but his head and body just weren't as driven. Pity, he was unplayable in that almost season.

Just on the Klopp contract thing, as much as we'd all like to have him as manager for the next 10 years he doesn't strike me as the type of man you can tie down to a contract. He'll leave when he feels the time is right whether that's 12 months or 12 years from now.
FSG are absolutely doing the right thing by leaving it up to himself.

He strikes me as someone who never fought to try get in the team consistently. Look at Origi who honestly is less gifted than him technically but when thrown in has worked his tail off & taken his chances with minutes. I think Sturridge knew Firmino was first choice & just expecting to be put in the team rather than giving Klopp a headache. Not sure if his legs went or if he lost confidence in running with speed & maintaining his fitness but he's nearly 30 & plays like a 34 years old.

Moreno I was so excited about after that goal vs Spurs but was a useless defender & I wouldn't have missed him had he left 3 years ago.

Won't happen until the training ground is all finished and completed

I don’t know 500k people on the streets of Liverpool might give them food for thought to go ahead and start it soon.

Problem is what's the most you could charge for a ticket down the Annie Road end? 50 quid? With no corporate it will never make money back on the investment.

Don’t think a player has frustrated/annoyed me more than Sturridge with his lack of effort and playing for himself over the team. As said a great 18 months as a side kick to Suarez but didn’t really have the mentality to replace him once he moved on .

Interesting to see where he ends up next, does he still think he can contribute to one of the bigger teams, does he have it in him for a relegation battle with a newly promoted team, football/rap career in the MLS? You’d have to wonder if there’s even much interest as there’s normally links and stories in the final few months of the season.

Moreno was a bombscare of a defender but he was hard to dislike. Always seemed to be a popular member of the squad with everyone else.

He should get picked by a decent club back in Spain.

Back to Sevilla I would guess, he loves the club...

He's more cut out for track and field than football, that lad.

Loved the club so much he was having the craic with them in the warm up to a european cup final. I don't doubt he's a nice lad but he didn't seem to have much going on between the ears.

Maybe I'm expecting too much but in a game like that you should be sticking to your team.

Everything you hear/read says that Albie is prob the most popular person in the dressing room. He's clearly not the brightest but he seems to be a genuinely good lad. Its a shame he wasn't able to push on as he has all the raw tools to be a top class left back. Still at least now he's gone we can smile thinking about all those mad mid air scissor kick tackles he used to do!

What to say about Moreno? I always think of his fantastic goal against Spurs as being on his debut, but it was actually his second game, unfortunately his debut featured a sight far more common in his Liverpool career:

    giphy.gif

And I'll never forget him getting away with a blatant penalty and then making sure it's given with a shove in the back right after in that crazy 5-4 game vs Norwich:

    giphy.gif

He did have a couple (I can literally only think of two) good moments for us though, the aforementioned Spurs goal and this unbelievable tackle against his future teammate Sadio:

    giphy.gifgiphy.gif

Sturridge is a little more complicated, far better player obviously, 13/14 is pretty unforgettable, I just feel like we'd been expecting this departure for two or three years now and while I wouldn't say his past couple years have soured his time at the club I do think everybody's just ready to move on. I don't know how many "Sturridge is back" moments we've had since 2015 only for him to get injured again. It's disappointing, go back to the threads from the summer of 2014 and you'll see myself and many others more than happy with the idea of him taking the reigns from Suarez, it just never came to fruition.

He almost won us the Europa League in 2016 but the lad just above him made sure that wasn't gonna happen:

    giphy.gif

And he'll always have this contribution to Number 6, along with one of the Premier League goals of the season:

    giphy.gifgiphy.gif

Ultimately my feelings on their departures are those of indifference, having them leave doesn't really change anything, does it? At least they both go out as European Royalty.

In a perfect world is keep Sturridge and use him when needed.

I understand the wages are better spent elsewhere and he owes it to himself to get more gametime somewhere.

Even this season, as above poster says, two big goals.

That royally drove me fcuking mental at the time, I was livid with him, on that and a few other occasions to be fair, he had serious pace mind you, but just lacked a football brain...

No-Braino will haunt me as a fan, yet he seemed to be dead settled in the squad and obviously has a great friendship with the brazilian lads...

In a perfect world we’d have sold him in 2014 and brought in a replacement who could contribute more than 30 goals in the 5 years since.

One of the most bizarre things to happen at this club is still Moreno being fit for the entirety of 16/17 but only starting two games because James Milner, a lad who had never played left back in his professional career, took his spot.
