It is a good day to be a Liverpool fan. The jealous posting on here makes it even better :)
I tend to immediately hide the haters and the trolls; they’re happy talking to themselves anyway :D

Really? Drab, drab game with one moment of quality from origi and a few good saves

Rewatched it earlier, very poor spectacle but the notion Spurs were the better team was simply false. Speaks volumes for the difference in quality when Spurs just couldn't land a glove on a well below par Liverpool. Bar a few shots around 75 mins they did nothing to trouble Liverpool.
Granted the game plan went out the window for both teams after a minute but that was as comfortable a game for Liverpool I can remember.

Last year's final was more of a contest than this.

It’s about building a connection, which the LOI doesn’t do. Tell that to your brothers father in law, who must be amazed that you use the Queens language rather than your own.

But isn't an artificial connection? - Example - Liverpool FC represents a team from the City of Liverpool - the community there etc.
Those from outside are more followers of the 'brand' people who wish to be associated with the brand. Of course Liverpool are more than willing to keep this brand-name going, which is why they have friendlies in the USA, Asia, Ireland. They don't mind where they get thier money from.
It seems artificial to me anyway, a stage managed money making job.
Before a friendly in Dublin - Klopp once described Dublin as an LFC city!

PS* I can converse in either language, written and reading not great though.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

The semi finals are the games to re-watch surely?
Unforgettable stuff people will be talking about those games for many years to come.
Most will forget this final, and just remember Liverpool won.
Origi will be the answer in a quiz question that people will struggle to remember.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I'm not sure why you are wasting valuable minutes of your life with this line of posting, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Just answering posts directed at me, and trying to explain my opinion - but obviously - it is too close to the bone for some - plus not the time or place.

I suppose I was unwise to respond to another poster's post on here (where s/he mentioned fireworks and Irish people supporting English teams)

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Tá gaeilge agam freisin (as do you). But it against the rules not to use English on boards.ie. (unless it is in the languages section)

However, as I have already said it is not an Irish/English thing that gets me it is creation of a false brand association. Happens everywhere in the world people in Asia/Africa/USA latch on to Real/Barca/Man United/Liverpool/Man City brand etc

I am not sure what the issue of language as to with it? Because regardless of what language is used, other places in the world would still claim to support those brands. In whatever language they use.
It is more of a problem of the human condition.

And I got accused of being on my high horse!? :D

This is exactly the type of thing I do not get.

It does not make any sense, you are just as much a 'consumer' as Chelsea/Man City fans.
Or is your brand choice considered more 'authentic' in your mind?

Mané had a moment of quality before that in fairness where he flicked past...Kane I think...and turned on the afterburners. Milner shot just wide from that chance

There’s a thread for why Irish people support English teams on AH

This is about the game, just enjoy the celebrations. We can argue next week, today is for being hungover and happy. And watching the video of Henderson hugging his dad

For soccer people not to go games on thier doorstep when it is affordable 15€ and can get a bit of entertainment for that price baffles me. You would expect more soccer people to go for that reason alone. It is only the price of a couple of pints, no plane required Particularly when we are supposed to be such a patriotic/parochial country.

    Bollox talk

I tried the whole loi crap on many occasions. Had myself a season ticket for limerick. Cold dark evenings watching **** football soon wore thin. Then upon reflection i thought what is the point. Why am i watching a bastardisation of a team that use to exist. The limerick team has been reformed renamed and reimagined more times than i wish to care. The fact is these amatuer sides serve no purpose to our entertainment. They exist only because they are a requirement if you want a national side. The fai dont give a **** about loi so why should i? I go a few times a year to liverpool games and ill watch the odd local game (i love how loi is the real dedication but we never talk about actual local teams) down the road when im walking the dogs. I will even watch the odd celtic game as a friend of mine is a fan. But liverpool are the only team i support.

If i had to choose between a free season ticket to watch limerick fc or pay astronomical amounts to watch every liverpool game on tv (i do), its not even a consideration.

If the fai ever do bother i will give it a chance again but why should i care when they dont?

As for the Irish identity spiel....... adapt or get left behind

Spurs fan talking about the Liverpool 2nd and ball placement does not mention the ref changed the rules to allow a player getting treatment to come back on the pitch also not talking about Spurs moving the ball about 5 yards for a free kick just before

Ah you are yeah, but it doesn't look funny doesn't they are shouting at a fella to close down a ball and run at pace - when they themselves are extremely unlikely to do so as they are so unfit?
As I said if people enjoy it let them at it.

Your posts are bizarre. I'll leave you to it.

He’s weird. I’ve been to Cork City games (stopped a few years back), plenty of pot belly guys roaring at the players to run. But somehow it fits into his weird argument. Bizzare infatuation he has.

Congrats to the Liverpool fans, overall they definitely deserved a trophy this season.

Not a great final but finals are for winning not looking pretty. I thought Spurs played well up until the final third.

Mane and Van Djik were excellent I thought, Salah had a really poor game.

I see it being reported that, that poor attempt at streaking is set to earn that woman €3m in advertising across her social media platforms.

She couldn't even steak properly imagine how much she would have made if she actually streaked properly naked.

The type of woman who never cooked any sort of meal in her life I'd say never mind look after steaks she'd well do your medium-rare. :D

UEFA squad for the season. I'd query no Matip but I suppose they had to squeeze De Ligt in and the inclusion of Kevin De Bruyne who hardly played.

    Goalkeepers
    Alisson Becker (Liverpool)
    Marc-André ter Stegen (Barcelona)

    Defenders
    Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
    Matthijs de Ligt (Ajax)
    Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)
    Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
    Andy Robertson (Liverpool)

    Midfielders
    Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham)
    Hakim Ziyech (Ajax)
    Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
    Frenkie de Jong (Ajax)
    Tanguy Ndombele (Lyon)
    Georginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool)
    David Neres (Ajax)
    Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

    Forwards
    Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
    Dušan Tadić (Ajax)
    Sadio Mané (Liverpool)
    Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus)
    Lucas Moura (Tottenham)

Fabinho should definitely be in there ahead of De Bruyne, it’s not like they had to choose an attacking midfielder and as others have pointed out, he didn’t play much and his only truly outstanding performance was the second leg against Spurs.

Fabinho and De Jong have been the best two midfielders in the knockout stages IMO, and if they were only going to put one Liverpool midfielder in, they got it wrong (as much as I love Gini Wijnaldum).
