Just a quick note on the few comments about the dilution of the value of the champions league, and how you don't even have to be champions to be in it - there's only a few top level leagues in the world, and Liverpool knocked out the German, Portuguese, and Spanish champions to get to the final, while Spurs knocked out the English champions, and beat the team that knocked out the Italian champions, and reigning European champions. Sure what more can you do like?

Champions League knockouts are the best footballing spectacle on the planet right now, and have been for the past few years.

Oh how they scoffed and ridiculed- real success is built over time, Klopp has long strived to build something special at our club. He has made them a joy to watch and even without the silverware there have been some special moments to savour. When the talk turns to transfers and next season I hope the first priority is giving Jurgen a contract for as long as he wants!!

Awake since 6am. That moment when Hendo lifted the cup and the Champions music kicked in was beautiful.

You would think do... Yet it has been diluted to the stage that neither of the finalists have been domestic champions in 30 years......

To all the the lurkers ...

This is what insufferable looks like ... K

Class! I was really hoping they would shut up for a minute last night on BT so I could enjoy that but Michael Owen took about 3 mins to say what he was saying and then Rio and co joined in. It was a class moment and they needed to just let the viewers take that in with no commentary for a couple of mins!

Wanted to post this before the final but it would have fallen on deaf (supporters of certain other clubs) ears but.... if in life I can become as big a loser as Jurgen Klopp was, leading underdog teams to 3 CL finals, a Europa final and three domestic finals, then I will be extrEmely happy with my accomplishments.

Adding a CL trophy to that is a very very nice cherry on the cake.

Was delighted to see Henderson lift the trophy, has given everything and more since 2011.

Well lads I'm still buzzing. Klopp got his trophy and deafened a shower of **** who used to hold it over his head....no more.

Edit this post well timed it seems. :pac:

Jose is odious and awful in so many ways... but there is no doubt that he wishes he'd managed Liverpool. Other teams might scoff at it but there are no group of fans like Liverpool fans. Sure the internet is full of awful awful Liverpool fans but thats true of any club, or anything really (the internet is hell) but listening to that last night, remembering Anfield for the Barca game... no other fans do that. Superiority complex? Maybe... but we're champions of Europe... we're allowed to have on today!

Id say that we are the second best team in the world at the minute. City are currently the best. Real, Barca and Bayern are all in transition. Thats the job Klopp has done he took over a team that was barely a top 6 team in england and was way down the pecking order for attracting players. He has had to do it the hard way through gradual progress and CL qualification he has earned the money and then the trust of top players to think of Liverpool as a team to sign for. Fabinho, Alisson, VVD are the type of players we couldnt attract before Klopp due to money and more importantly the believe that the club was up there with the best teams in Europe. The haters kept harping on about the need for a mickey mouse trophy like carling cup it was nonsense. Top 4 and continued progression was far more important. Last night is a culmination of all that progress over the last few years.

    /thinking of Philippe Coutinho...

Beating Suarez and Coutinho really was a glorious subplot, and possibly a very important one on a human level when it comes to keeping the core of this squad together over the coming couple of years.
