Car interior paint job

So I decided to repaint the interior plastic of my car doors as they had several scrapes. Unfortunately the paint that I used is starting to peel off. In hindsight, perhaps not my finest decision. Anyways,is there any kind of protective coat I could apply to prevent this? Thanks in advance.

How did you prep it ?
I had to paint a panel just last week (around the gear shifter)
Took it out,sanded it back with 3/4 grades of paper finishing with 800.
2 very light primer coats (then flatten back with fine sandpaper), 2 coats of black then finished with clear lacquer.

I didnt have high hopes but I have to say it came out excellent.
Its a low traffic area but time will tell.
