cheated on your brother with another woman? She is adamant that she is not really a lesbian, just had a fling, but doesn't want her husband to know. Think it's best to let sleeping dogs lie, but not sure.

Turn it the other way around. If you were cheated on would you want to know?

If I found out my sister knew I was cheated on and didn't tell me I'd never speak to her again.

    I'd need more detail.

This is currently in After Hours so, the most obvious question - is she hot?

I'd find it pretty amusing tbh.

I'm sure my brother would too.

Demand a threesome as the price of my silence.

As an honest response, I would think you should tell him - he has a right to know. If he finds out you knew, how will he react?
Also, it sounds like she doesn't want him to know, so are you sure it was a once off?

Otherwise, please provide more details, including diagrams.

It's their business. If you're absolutely, definitely, 100% sure it was a one-off and will never happen again and her remorse is genuine, it doesn't seem worth upsetting the brother and possibly breaking up a marriage.

Either way, this isn't your story to tell and while you can steer her one way or another via threats etc., telling him yourself is a bad idea. People tend to shoot the messenger and the worse the news is, the more they get shot.

    Tread carefully and be sensible.

Same rule applies regardless of the sex of the other person. It is said women who cheat do so emotionally before the physical so often a bigger deal.

    It's never one off.

I know that's the popular consensus, but there's no evidence of it's truth. I'm sure (and a quick peruse of PI might well confirm) that many men and women make mistakes and learn from them, never to repeat them.

If someone is a serial cheater that's one thing and I'd never trust someone with form in that department. We don't know that the SIL is one of those.

Either way, the OP has to be very careful.

Aren't you the poster that was outraged by a co-worker that drinks 10 pints a week?

If that bothers you, how are so calm about your sister in law cheating on your brother?!

Does she need to cheat with your co-worker before you'd consider telling your brother?!

More importantly, how did you find out-you haven't told us the best part of the story?

On a serious note, family are everything. I would be more angry with a sibling that didn't tell me than a cheating spouse.

Tell your brother to cheat on her with a man.

Give her until the weekend to tell your brother, if she doesn't tell your brother yourself

End their marriage or let it blow over.
