The crowd are heckling him, not nice. I hope he holds on even though i didn't like him before the tournament.

Indeed and a tester for his bogey.

Ah that could be a massive miss by DJ

Let's not forget that DJ is not the greatest closer in majors.

    Norman v Faldo Augusta 1996.

Either way Brooks knows he has browned his pants a bit here, gone will be the supreme arrogance. Which is no bad thing as he was doing a lot of talking before about most of the field not being up to the pressure of a major. He is showing the pressure here.

The crowd heckling is totally uncalled for. It's just nasty and has no place in golf.

Really hope he gets to shut them up. Go Brooks!

Are we watching the greatest collapse in the history of golf majors?

Greg Norman versus Faldo will always have that beat. Faldo only shot level par to win

33/1 on Dustin Johnson this morning was too good to be true. Its golf anything can happen and was worth taking the odds

    Thank you captain hindsight.

So, so easy to say that with what’s going on today - and Koepka still a massive favourite.

Yeah pretty bad alright. It was similar enough at Shinnecock for US open last year, good old New Yorkers. Poults got awful abuse

Johnson is just awful when he gets in contention. How many times has he blown up?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

    Pressure easing on Brooks.

Shane and Rory on T8 now. Shane would have settled for that after 33 holes!

Amazing how DJ managed to implode the minute he got into contention

The great DJ shot +11 with 3 shot lead after 54 holes in the 2010 US Open. He was practically handed the only major he won. That's why he's only got one. He's a choker.

And to think he started birdie, par. Pressure just got to him. Hopefully he will learn from the experience. The other young lad, Jazz, acquited himself well.

Ya when you compare his major record to his WGC record and given the field strengths are comparative, he should have more then one deffo

I'm going to guess 7 under wins.

well -7 might not be the winning score, but it is enough to win it

Isn't that the difference between multiple major winners and the likes of him???

Getting over the line is what separates them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,286 ✭✭✭seligehgit

Yikes just as well he's heading to the 18th.

Surely a two shot cushion is sufficient.

    Brooks out-bottlejobbed by DJ here

Varner shooting 10 over beside him can't have helped Brooks.

They also seemed to be waiting on almost every hole to play. Professional golf is desperate for slow play.
