Rattling noise

I have Audi automatic 2004 tdi 1.9 disiel, lately when I ease off the accelerometer, there is a rattle if noise heard, could it be timing belt ?

Does it also happen when car is stopped and engine reved?

At that age it could be anything from a serious problem to a loose heatshield.
As suggested, try when car is stationary.
Open bonnet and listen

Had the same problem,drive me nuts- honda insight- heatshield loose
