Memory Card Locked

My Nikon D3200 just randomly stopped allowing me take photos. I looked at the screen and a message keeps popping up -

"Memory Card Locked. Slide Lock to Write Position."

Didn't even know you could lock a memory card.

Took it out. The lock wasn't in a lock position at all on the card.
Tried it again a few times, changing the lock, taking out battery etc but it still comes up with the same message.

Tried a different Memory card but same thing keeps happening.

    Any ideas what to do?
    It's a relatively new camera.

Multiple cards makes me think its a damaged slot. If you can get a good picture of it that might confirm/deny that theory.

Sounds like a dirty or broken sensor for detecting if the write lock is on.
