If my car fails a retest what happens?

My car recently failed test on clutch. The clutch pedal just went limp in test centre and car had. to be pushed out by tester.
A few hours later when I collected car clutch was working fine, it's a new clutch that was fitted a few months back.

The mechanic says can't find anything wrong with clutch so just bring back to be retested.

I'm a bit worried about this advice am, wondering what's the procedure if it fails on same grounds again?

It goes for full fresh NCT once you don't pass within the 30 day retest window.

Yes as many times as you want, however you can't make a new appointment after the 20th day.

My car failed a retest as the tester was being pedantic, the requested work was done perfectly.
Brought to another centre and it passed fine.

NCT retest failure.
