Car details registered incorrectly - who can correct it?

    Hi folks,

Looks like my car was registered incorrectly when imported from the UK by the previous owner. It's an E46 BMW but when the reg number is put into a motor check/parts website it is coming up as an E92 leading me to believe it's simply a registration error.

Any idea how I can get this rectified? I've been in touch with Shannon but they couldn't help and instead pointed me in the direction of the Tax Office/Revenue. Again, they couldn't really help either. I believe it's the Central Vehicle Office in Rosslare that I need to correct it but it is proving difficult to reach them. The phone number doesn't connect. I've sent them a letter outlining the above a number of months ago but still no response.

    Any insight greatly appreciated

What does the VLC say it is?

I had a vaguely similar issue with an old Citroën Xsara that had been imported and a single-character typo introduced into the VIN field of the VLC. PSA kindly confirmed through a local main dealer that the VINs stamped on the car in the engine-bay and in the boot were correct, so after a quick physical inspection a Revenue officer was quite happy to initial the VLC and send it to Rosslare for amendment. I'm thinking they should maybe do something similar here?
