Just take it on the chin - lesson learned. He or she might have done you a favour indirectly, move on and learn from it.

It can and has been done.

Also the sense of irony calling someone else a tosspot for recording some questionable driving seems to be lost on you.

What undertaking are we talking here? Inside lane of the motorway "undertaking" lane hogs going 10 under the limit, or bus lane kind of undertaking?

If you feel you weren't in the wrong, may be worth showing footage and having a chat with them.

A bit ott to see some perceived bad driving and record and report it, especially if it’s not an immediate and tangible danger. By the law of averages tomorrow I’ll witness something done by someone in contravention of the road traffic act, multiple times. Unless someone is doing something that visibly is endangering the lives and wellbeing of motorists/pedestrians I’m keeping on driving. I’ve enough to be doing and getting on with in my own life rather then be worrying about every Tom , Dick and Harriott who might step over the threshold of good judgement...

No, all on the normal 2 lanes of a bypass. The gardai say they won’t show me the footage unless I contest it in court. Does that sound right?

Totally missed the start of this thread, but there was a lot of criminally dangerous undertaking on the hard shoulder of the M1 southbound this morning, 2km from any exit, to avoid the traffic jam. Both nordie and southern regs, at least a dozen of them.

Edit: just saw mention of bypass, so ignore that

The camera driver thought the manoeuvre was dangerous enough to justify reporting it. The Garda though it was serious to pursue the matter.
    That should tell you something.
It's safe to assume the Gardai are not inclined to follow-up trivial matters.

Some UK police forces are encouraging members of the public to send them camera footage.

I had a valid contribution to the thread which may have proved useful but OP is just deleting stuff all over makes it difficult to keep current with whats being asked. In the future OP, I would suggest leaving your comments so that people can actually help with your questions. You can't get an answer to a deleted question or reply.
