    OP you have a mixed bunch in there from small petrols to mid size diesel cars. The only criteria I can seem to see is the price range and cheap tax. You need to figure out what size car you want and do you actually need a diesel car? If your driving style or mileage doesn't suit a diesel then best stay away from them. I'd also recommend not getting too hung up on motor tax being a major deciding factor, most cars have cheap motor tax these days and it's really only a small part of the cost of owning a car.

    hyundai is the best of that lot, watch out for the electrics in those french cars,
