Looking for recommendations

So, I’m in the market for a new car. Feeling a bit overwhelmed about what to look for.

My requirements are:

4/5 door
I do small mileages (6000/year) so probably Petrol
Mid sized engine, keep insurance down
Not too high tax bracket
Reliable
Something sporty-ish kind of, no space wagons anyway
Budget €8000

A Honda civic would suit your needs, especially in type S guise.

If you were willing to forego 4 doors, a Honda CRZ is a cool sporty car.

Another option if you could stretch the budget slightly would be a Hyundai Velostar.

Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0TSI 230HP 0-62 mph: 6.8 seconds. That is a lot of power for a car that size.

I did not recommend it. I was point out how big the engine was in that car and it might be expensive to insure. Another poster recommended the car.

Might be worth noting they requested something sporty.....a 1.2 Octavia is what I would classify as the opposite of sporty

For the 8k budget a nice little hatch would be great....the Mazda above looks like it transported cattle and not people....personally I would stick to A3 or BMW's for that extra bit of comfort(BMW cover the mini of course)

Both over budget but should be able to bring down in current market, just giving some idea's

Just to note that white one isn’t an S-Line. It’s a Technik with a black wrap on the roof.

A 1.6 TDI wouldn’t really be the car to get for small mileage IMO

They where just 2 example I found in about 2 mins, other options available with a 1.4 TSi engine. BMW/Ford/etc all available in price bracket.
