Pochettino changes nothing with this group of players. Pep or Klopp would not fare much better either. Been saying it even under our good run, but patience is needed because a root and branch clear out over the next few windows is needed along with the signings actually doing well.

Why are we trusting OGS to do a reboot of a massive football club?

    Lads we are ****ing awful

Lazy players slow playing the ball constantly

The back 4 today were a comedy

    Massive summer coming up

So many players need to be moved on now its not even funny

Ya there was something odd about that celebration would love to of heard what was going on.

Strange situation at the club with doubts over so many players who will be here next season.

It looked like he was trying to rally them to finish out the game but it's hard to know.

Maybe he was inviting them to visit him in Madrid in the summer :P

    Another abysmal performance

It’s probably close to 50-50 of abysmal to good showings under Ole now, which doesn’t bode well for the future.

I’d be looking at Pochettino if we hadn’t already handed out a contract.

And Pochettino would be 50-50 with this squad aswell.

How many managers are needed before players get the blame?

Great result. Ole keeping up an impressive league win percentage. Pogba great under pressure with two penalties. Top four hopes still alive although we'll have to play better than today to get it.

That is a fairer question. I never said that this board is competent or has a plan :pac:

Anybody want to try and defend that scutter we just watched?

Who's fault is it this time?

Doubt anyone will defend the performance.

We were very poor. Main thing for now is the 3 points however.

I know people will complain about our squad and work to be done but until this season is over that won't be addressed at all, just have to hope we can get over the line.

Our form over the last 6 or so games is more than just a blip now. We are in massive trouble and I believe 6th is where we will finish the season. The Ole novelty, enthusiasm, work ethic, and courage on the field appears to have worn off for the vast majority of our bunch of very fickle players and we are looking at a return to type.

A mentally weak bunch of very well paid young men who have become far too comfortable and relaxed playing in the red of Manchester.

Poor auld Ole has it all to do and he knows it now. It was written all over his face in that match.

    Pogbas fault 🤣

Sell him to Madrid my arse i cant see Madrid wanting him. Someone needs to talk to him on a serious note the slow lethargic play is pathetic

Absolutely lazy slow play from most of the team fred seemed to look the only player to push or try to play ball

You’ve actually not addressed one thing Fred has said. In fact your only response to people targeting the board is that they are making it up.

Tell you what, if you can clarify how the clubs resources have been used, show us how the owners/Woodward have done a good job and back it up with credible sources , I’m sure many of us will reconsider our views on this topic.

I addressed exactly what he was talking about. He said the board won't back Ole and they only make decisions for financial gain. He's painting a picture of the board, like them or not, thats completely untrue.

I replied with figure about the exact amount spent of players for the team, addressing exactly the nonsense he posted.

Pogba after saying pretty much the same, we didn't play well but came out with the 3 points and now have to look at where we went wrong and focus on the next. Also said we were lucky but sometimes you're on the other end.

Also asked why he stopped his stutter on the penalty run up, he said the most important thing is putting the ball into the back of the net, that's what he's learned or been taught. Wonder if the coaches had a word with him about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,547 ✭✭✭Your Airbag

The poster you are talking about is delusional or taking the piss. One or the other.

That performance is a prime example of the consistent problems this club has

Typical reply from you attack the poster and not the post, with the high and mighty "people are dragging the thread down" ****e.

Your post was a delusional rant, and it still is, no personal attacks will change that.

I've criticised Scholes and his punditry before but did he just say PSG is a better team than Barcelona and we bet them away....I suppose were all free to our opinions haha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,239 ✭✭✭Jimbob1977

Martial must start at the Nou Camp.

Lukaku is very cumbersome these days. He should have been rattling a dubious Barcelona defence.... but contributed zero.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not about blaming Pogba for our performance today. Can't blame today on one player. Rode our luck today with a poor performance.

I think Jones needs a mention too. Lad was even powering on looking like Mickey Rourke from the Wrestler.

Yeah Jones, for all the stick he gets was good today. Pogba too.

The board didn’t back our manager last year and have identified players separate to managers in the past. This is a fact. Quoting 400 million doesn’t mean anything other then money has been spent. The owners/Woodward played a role in that spending, can you clear up for us all what role that was cause Gary Neville has also asked who makes the big calls on players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

I think Pogba was average myself, not sure if I'd say good.

At times pressed looked good defending and passing but then other times not so much.

Credit to him for having the bottle to finish the penalties but I'm sure he wouldn't be happy himself with how he played, that goes for most of them.

I can already see the headlines.

“A core group of United senior players unsure of inexperienced OGS”

Rinse and repeat with a new manager.

Scholes is suddenly a friendly voice. Correcting Jake telling him it wasn't "that" bad.

Maybe his short stint in management has softened him up.

The board bought two players last year for him, he wanted to buy a third CB because he was benching his own two previous CB signings, I can understand there reluctance to go for a third when his last two picks he didn't even trust, plus his third season tantrum was on the way. They were right abut that.

Freds post was trash. We are one of the highest spending clubs in the world. You seem upset about it, I'm sure Fred can reply anyway if he had anything to back up his claim with, he doesn't. I'm as sick as the thread is of your after match ranting so I'm leaving it here.

Friendlier looking manager me thinks. Jose and LvG would've got a withering assessment from him for that today.

Yep, his mate is manager and we all like Ole....

To a large degree Jose pissed off a lot of people , including the media , but it definitely affected their reporting and analysis of his tenure. The last 6 weeks haven’t been much different under Ole but you wouldn’t know it if you only read papers or listened to match analysis.

Ole is aware of the decisions to be made and telling players they need to show quality, he said this yesterday, naming two lads who were not involved in the initial improvement shows he wants to see progress not temporary improvements:

"We need players here who are going to be able to take us forward," he said.

Asked about his squad, Solskjaer added: "It's going to be survival of the fittest or survival of the best. That's how ruthless we have to be."

We played against a Barcelona team that sets the standard in European football," the 46-year-old told a news conference on Friday.

"We're under no illusion it's going to be hard work and there will be some tough decisions made by me, Mick [Phelan, the assistant manager] and the club.

"You want to see players step up and say now: 'I want to be part of this.' You saw Fred and Scott [McTominay] the other day took the mantle up. That's what we expect from all the players."

Forget about Fred so, Who decides on what players are signed/targeted and sold and how do you know it? How much input do managers have in this process? Why does Gary Neville keep asking who is making the big calls on players? Why did LVG actually mention Woodward and a banking right hand man when talking about transfers? Why did Jose say call him a coach after last summer?

There is more then enough evidence to strongly suggest the owners/Woodward are heaviky involved in the transfer process.

Of course they are, I never claimed otherwise. Your arguing with something that wasn't even said at this point. Waste of time.

You continually imply that those of us who target Woodward or the board are misguided, I’m asking you to explain your position. What role have the board/Woodward play in transfers? How much of our problems now are down to how they use our resources?

I’m trying to understand why you take such a defencive stance towards them.
