1 step up from Ford Fiesta? Recommended dealers?

Hi

Looking to upgrade car this year. Currently driving a 2007 Ford Fiesta.

There's a 2017 Astra here. Price seems a bit too good?

Base model i30 but they're well specced anyway aren't they?

Want to spend less than €10k but could stretch to €12k. Don't think my current car would be worth much. 130k on the clock although it is a 1.4 Zetec model.

Expecting a baby at the end of the year. Wife wants ISOFIX and 4/5 door. Not too many other demands as we wouldn't really be 'car people'. I would like something that's nice to drive though. Petrol too as we wouldn't do a lot of mileage.

Any other recommendations or cars or dealers?

That Astra is cheap because it smells of ex rental car to me. It is also a terrible spec, plastic wheel trim, keep fit rear windows, no steering wheel controls and Astras are just not desirable these days. That particular Auris ain't much better spec wise. The Focus seems the best of that bunch, decent spec and nicest colour imo. The only thing is those early Ford 1.0 Ecoboost engines had some overheating problems so I'd be checking that Ford addressed that issue before looking at one.

I do like the look of the Mazda3 too. I'll have a look at those when I get home.
