Line 2 of test process and preparing for your test would suggest yes you should empty it

Do you want the weight of your vehicle on the cert to include all the junk you have in it?

I've never emptied mine, and the lads have never complained, (but things may have changed)

In fairness calling it junk is a bit much.

It’s a big big job to empty a work van for some, many would have it fully shelved and full of tools and supplies which is a massive pain to have to empty out if it’s necessary.

I’d always have a car empty for an nct or a van or commercial Jeep empty for the cvrt but I don’t have much stuff in the back so it’s easy, very different for trades men etc.

I'd have the cab tidy but there's no need to empty the load space.
