Busy in work all morning and only getting a chance to read a few comments on here

Could anyone sum it up in a line or 2 so far?

Are the FAI going to get away with it do we think?

100% Ruth Coppinger was the only one to lay a glove on them and really had them squirming but the chairman of the committee shut that down quick-smart.

Why is Mark Daly bleating on like this?

    This is embarassing.

FAI bluffing and hiding behind reports and won't disclose them in future.

Delaney refusing to answer any questions relating to 100k due to legal/kerins but happy to speak about new role.

Few tough questions asked but majority of tds out of their depth.

JD/FAI: The money was resting in my account.

    Oireactas Committee: Why?

    JD/FAI: Can't answer that.

    Oireactas Committee: OK.

Regardless of whether theyre entitled/bound by the law to not answer it really doesnt matter. They are fully entitled but as we saw with things like the rugby rape case the legalities of things only protect you to a certain extent. the court of public opinion will ultimately get him as it did the rugby lads.

Not really the time and place to be going on and on about women. I get his point but surely there are more pressing concerns here.

They aren't even answering the questions.

"How are you going to change your governance structures"

"By tackling the issue of governance head on".

    Good grief.

The questions dont go away just because the FAI cant/wont answer them now. This is very damaging for them.

Is there funding money that goes to FAI separate to the Sport Ireland funding ? Surely if there is it should be just withheld until the FAI are more forthcoming and just stop whatever nonsense is going on today.

Sport Ireland have to continue to withhold funding until there is board and exec change.

This has to go to that, It will highlight to sponsors the level of public concern.

and perhaps. We simply dont go to games until it happens.

    Quite Frankly

They won't agree to a forensic independent audit. Absolutely scandalous.

Anyone on that board should resign immediately.

Blatantly refusing to answer the question about a forensic audit. What a charade

thats what i assumed also but another poster, cant remember who, was adamant it wasnt that.

Not really the time and place to be going on and on about women. I get his point but surely there are more pressing concerns here.

"...The wonderful job that Lisa Chambers has done with Brexit and I'm sure if she was over there in Westminister it would all have been sorted long ago, as would all of the women..."

That was only part of his rambling. And then clearly forgot that he hadn't even answered a question before he yielded his time given how indignant he got when he didn't receive a direct response and in turn wasn't allowed to further query the issue. Whatever the issue was.

That is where the real power lies. Forget all this committee nonsense. Everyone gets lawyered up and the sole purpose of the FAI is to get out without too much damage.

But fans stopping from going to games will make everyone notice. Players at the weekend should boycott the games. The LOI should refuse to play until the prize money and organisation is sorted.

None of that will happen of course, and the FAI know it. So they will take a few bad headlines, a few difficult questions but return to exactly the way it was in a few days.

Saw some of this earlier, and been following alot online. Some journalist I really like (Mal Clerkin, Kieran Cunningham etc) seem to be in disbelief what is going on

Cannot fathom how anyone thought it was going to be any different than it has been Gangster organization been asked questions by feeble committee. What could have gone wrong!

Some good stuff on twitter. Daniel McDonnell is good for Irish football issues. Aidan Fitzmaurice echoes the thoughts of this thread:

Pretty much confirming what many of us have said already:

They are all a shower of gangsters holding Irish football hostage.

what do you think a CEO does exactly? it delaney didnt know thats a failing of his CFO more so than him.

The CEO is the CFO's boss! Look at the actual definition of CEO. Having knowledge of the organizations financial position is the very very first thing he needs to know, fundamental to everything else he does!

I think it would need to be something legal or criminal that he has done wrong.

They pretty much said that despite what happened on his watch at CEO because of his contacts in UEFA he is still the man for the new VP role.

They need to have their commercial streams affected.

    Ticket sales, merchandise, etc.

Full on boycotts of national team home games meaning empty stadiums save for away fans.

    Protests outside the stadium.

At the very least, even if a mass boycott would prove impossible (some fans will go no matter who is in charge as is their right), an organised protest prior to the game with banners would at the very least keep the heat on.

I think there's more chance of that than an actual boycott if I'm totally honest.
