Mercedes whistling from turbo

    2001 311 cdi van when you rev it up as as he revving down again theres a loud whistling noise............................does that mean the turbo is on its way out

    Maybe an intercooler pipe blown off/ burst, I think its common on some sprinters.

    thanks so if bearings it expensive fix as only get worse i suppose
