Ford Mondeo radio/aircon control differences

Hi hope some ford drivers can help me here. Im looking buying a 10 or 11 Ford Mondeo and a few of the cars I looked at the controls for the air con/radio is slightly different. Some cars seems to have a silver front with 2 rotary knobs while others have a black front and a more flush fitting adjustment. The functionality…

Its obviously related the trim/spec of the model but I cant figure it out.
I have attached a photo of what im referring to, hopefully it attaches.

The Mondeo got a mid life facelift in early 2011 which included a new dashboard centre console and switch gear. The silver console is from the pre facelift model.
