It really is astonishing that we've hit 82pts with 5 games to go.

We've only matched or bettered this tally on 3 other occasions since the PL began.
    We got 82 in Rafa's 2nd season, 86 in 08/09 and 84 in 13-14.

I think anyone would've called a CL QF and 80+pts a solid return, nevermind being in with a good chance of having our best season in the league in terms of points since 3 points for a win started, a great performance. We'd have seen further signs of entrenchment at the business end of football, and a good platform on which to keep building.

We've hit par and everything else is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. It'll be impossible not to feel disappointed if we don't win the CL and the PL, but in the cold light of day we have to try and take this as the gift it is and try to enjoy what's left of the season.

Didn’t they beat them last year ?

They have spurs and mancs and palace

A draw be enough if we win all ours

I don't see Ole causing Pep much trouble. People might be in for a surprise if they're pinning their hopes on United getting a result there as I can City swotting them aside fairly handily.

We need Spurs to win on Tuesday to give City something to think about for the second leg and the Palace game on Sunday.

If not United, then who? I don't think spurs will do anything available and I don't think active else is even going to come close

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I know Palace home form been awful but I’ve got hope. They are getting pens on the reg and are setup perfectly to play City

Not expecting anything from Palace but it is good for us that Zaha is in the form of his life, he's the type of player who can get at that City defense and cause them trouble. Would fancy Palace to at least score once against City and then hope its enough for them to drop points.

With the Utd-City game you'd actually prefer if Mourinho was still in the job, its hard to see OGS getting the better of Pep tactically. Utd would need Pogba on form to beat City but he was anonymous vs. Wolves and he seems to be throwing his toys out of the pram again

I’d rather City stay in the Champions League for at least another round (or 2)

Give them ‘bigger’ things to worry about and focus on. They’ve long since (and most recently) got the Premier League monkey off their backs, so you’d like to think they’d be slightly prioritising the Champions League given they’ve never won it.

You think the 6th best team in the league are more likely to give them a game then the 3rd best team?

They're both capable of taking points off them, problem with United is its us and they won't want to help us. How far they take that remains to be seen but even if they are fully at it, a City win is still the most likely outcome.

United, Palace, Spurs and Leicester are all capable of taking points off them on their day but I think only Spurs and Leicester may actually do it.

Man U will be steamrolled by City anyway even if the put 100% into the game.

If Spurs don't take points from City then United will need a result to get top 4. I don't think they would help us, but they may have no option.

Do United lose out on sponsorship money for not making champions league? Their fans can play the 'anyone but Liverpool' card but those in the board room wont be playing it with them.

They need Champions League football for so many reasons and if they are serious they need to think long and hard when they play City. Thats if they are thinking of playing half arsed to stop us winning it.

They need the points regardless. Are they capable and will they fight for those points, we'll see.

Their Adidas deal has a clause in it that the money reduces of they miss CL two season running so they've avoided that one so far. Not that it matters, money making machine

They were up until the 94th minute when Troy deeny scored a penalty. Sounds unlucky although I haven't seen the game.

Deulofeu scored a bit of a peach.

Well that's wolves best 11 at anfield most likely for last game of league.

They just don't lose as home, they draw a few, but that wouldn't be enough unless we steam roll someone soon. We need goals.

That would be enough. We'd be up by 1 pt (if we win all our games).

Well this is it in that I'm strictly taking one round of games at a time, but I wouldn't be surprised if City win every game. They have the team and experience to do it.

You cannot underestimate how merciless that City team can be. They are a record breaking side so I find it incredibly naive to suggest that they are incapable of picking up maximum points just because of game congestion.

82pts would be enough to have won the PL in 5 previous seasons. What's really amazing is that with 5 games to go LFC could reach 97pts, a total that would have won the title every year but last, and yet still finish second.

Bit of a pain alright. With a cup final 6 days later there's no doubt they would have rested a few lads against us on the final day. They threw it away really.

Everyone thought Liverpool would throw it against Blackburn in 95, particularly given the Dalglish connection and the players of that era being more local, and hence a having greater feeling of the rivalry between the clubs. Didn't happen though

City will definitely beat United, they are absolutely awful and don't think they will make it very difficult for City. I'm holding out hope that Spurs will do us a favour. Was thinking that Palace might too but that result yesterday was massive for them, they don't have to go all out now next Sunday.

He could be a Scroobius Pip fan...

I'd say only about 6 people on boards would get this :)

Arsenal result would've pricked up Chelsea ears though
