Credit Card Mortgage Query

    Hi There,

I haven't missed a CC D/D payment but have gone over the limit 6/7 times in the past year. Limit was 2800, sometimes went as high as 2950. Have cleared balance in full since.

On the CCR report it has recorded the over limit balances. Going for a mortgage in June 2020, would this be a red flag for the banks? If I close the CC account will they still see that previous info?

Loan of circa 5k will be paid off by then also, no missed payments etc.

    Thanks

Closing the account will make no difference.

I would ask a broker in advance how the over limit balances will be viewed. Some banks may not care.

I would be interested in any feedback you got on this as I am in a similar situation.
