Window tinting adhesive on chrome

Hi. I got my rear windows tinted and there seems to be a residue of adhesive on the chrome.how would i remove this as it looks bad.the place that done it a 140km round trip and if i could sort it myself it would be as handy if not i will get onto them any suggestions welcome. Thankd

A rag and strong solvent or petrol should shift it. Make sure you wear gloves

I'm not a fan of petrol as it can mark clear coat. I'd try a good tar remover on a rag. Try on an inconspicuous spot first.

Is it proper chrome or plastic chrome? Proper metal chrome should be able to handle more aggressive products than the plastic

You don't use it on the painted bits;)

Baby wipes would be my first port of call.

Thanks for suggestions.mulled it over and declded to let the garage sort it out as the car is new and there was also a very small dent in the chrome. And i did not want to make it worse

I can't see how adhesive could be the culprit. The film comes has adhesive already on it, it isn't a separate item

HG Sticker remover would be a good shout. I suggested it to someone else here whom wanted to remove the tint adhesive/residue from glass and he used hot soapy water which worked for him.
