VW Golf doors/windows/alarm stuck!

    Hey I am just wondering if any one can help me.

    My two left side doors/windows are unable to open and if i lock my car the alarm goes off! One mechanic said my door would have to broken to get to the control unit, another mechanic dismissed this and said it is defiantly an electrical problem and a computer would have to fix it?

    is it a mk5 ?
    well known for the locks failing if it is,I have one myself.
