You are worse to respond or even mention this sort of stuff.

The top teams always get the breaks. Look at Chelsea earlier. What’s funny is that I used to have to listen to this sort of stuff about united under SAF and you are now seeing that the best teams make their luck. The more attacking you are the more chances , breaks and mistakes from rival teams.

Liverpool got a break today because they took a massive risk and got rewarded. VVD wasn’t left one on one v sissoko and Son because Liverpool were sitting back and taking the draw. That is the sort of emboldened risk that SAF used to take and very often was what separated success from disappointment.

I said it here in January that city’s consistently will be the biggest problem for you guys but I also said that performances won’t matter once Liverpool win a game. Salah was right in that interview, if you play crap and win the last 6 league games the title is Liverpool’s. They are all winnable games and city won’t win all their final games. Liverpool’s biggest challange is themselves now, do they have the nerve and courage to go on and take the trophy!. I think under Klopp they will certainly try but each game will get harder and harder.

As an outsider/rival, I don’t think the CL is a positive at this stage. Legs will be heavy as it is and the extra games will be draining. On the flip side if salah can kick on from the goal who knows what the team might do.

At the end of the game it was hard not to get a bit annoyed/jealous listening to sky go on about how loud the fans were and the great history of Liverpool oh and to see The big smile on Dalglishs face!!! What was I thinking in wanting pool to win so united would have a better chance of top 4!!!

And then I remembered watching united win the league in 1992-93. And I remember when the Blackburn home game came around and it was all about a victory lap cause the league had been won. United came back from 1-0 down to win 3-1 with pallister scoring the last goal and he was the only squad player who hadn’t scored that season. It was a great celebration and it cuts to Matt Busby in the stands and they talk about United’s great history and how long it had been since they won the league.

I’ve suffered awful abuse from Liverpool fans over the years even though I never took to engaging in banter, even when united were dominant. And while I can’t bring myself to cheer them on in games , there is a part of me that wants them to win the league for reasons beyond the rivalry.

    Precisely.

We can only hope Wolves make the FA cup final and throw the last game of the season!

0-0 95th minute and Coady blasts it in to the KOP goal for an OG that hands the league to Liverpool after Man City concede a last minute goal too

Got away with one today. Fab was a calming force when he came on.

United are Cities toughest remaining game on paper. It'll be interesting to say the least, United supporters cheering on City and Liverpool fans cheering on United.

I expect the team and crowd to do what liveroool did in 1995 agaisnt Blackburn. I’d be sick if united roll over and I don’t expect ole will be looking to help city win the league. I hope we stuff city badly and don’t care if it gives Liverpool a better chance of winning the league.

You need the points now too, which didn’t look likely to be the case 10 weeks ago.

At least you want the best for your team. There's others who would have rather see Liverpool lose today so it would dent their league challenge and as a result reduce their own teams chances of CL next season to get one over the Liverpool fans.

Alisson really isn't all that is he,it's vvd that is the difference, our keeper causes more fcking panic then mingolet with his play. Sure he can save a shot, most keepers can, hasn't been anything like world class imo.

His postioning is world class reason why he rarley has to make a world class save ,
Pickford constabtly makes full lenght saves but only because his postions before the shots are awful

Alisson is miles ahead of Migs

Exactly. Whatever you think of some united fans, the United players or manager don’t want to be in the Europa next season and I don’t see any scenario where a top 4 spot is guaranteed by the time we play city.

After today's result it's now four teams for two spaces in the CL. Huge chance for United to qualify now when most people had them written off before Jose left.

Hendo and Gini as six tend to defend space and cut off channels so the pass isnt made but Fabhino goes and wins the ball it huge difference ,
He is more of the Kante type as in he is a ball winner,

    I really like you :D

A few of my mates are United fans but only one of them is entirely sensible like your good self. He doesn't want us to win it but if we do he'd be delighted for me cos he's seen me suffer for 20 years while you lot cleared up! Glad to see he's not alone although you are both very very much in a a minority! Too many (of all teams fans) get caught up in the tribal rivalries of it all.

What we really need is a 20 year period where Liverpool & Man Utd are direct rivals with each other for the title and each win it with a degree of regularity :D

It’s strange that when Liverpool were dominating it Man Utd only fleetingly knocked on the door, and vice versa.

We need real competition....Imagine this place if it were lol

Was it 2 on one I forget anyway ye great jockeying great football brain great player and most important all round guy if he wants to win a Premier League and be remembered as one of the truely greatest ever CBs in prem lge history then hes gone to wrong club should of gone to City now I dont like saying it there a franchise club but Pep is King and Klopp is master of finishing second and just happy to get to finals for the day out and lose.

Drop the genius part and you're good to go mate!

Exactly. Liverpool not winning the league won’t console me watching united play cliftenville in the Europa league next season. The fun part of rivalry can be watching your rivals fall on their ass but not at the expense of your own team! I am genuinely conflicted about Liverpool this year.

The top two and second tier teams battling for top 4 are making this a Savage run in. 6 teams at the top battling for something. And 4 of them still in the champions league! WTF! It’s deadly.

I want CL football next season but a part of me does wonder if it will be easier for Ole to move on some players are rebuild his way if we aren’t in it. Marmite Pogba would prob leave. Sanchez May also go (money may be the prob) to get some CL football before his career is over. Ole could then spend next season bedding in a newish strategy and bringing in players with a better character.

City win 11 games on the bounce, they look at table, 2 points behind.

Absolutely no idea how we managed to win that game today. We keep finding a way. It's not good for the heart though.

If you miss CL this year that's 4 out of the last 6 years (I think). When it gets to that stage it's hard to sign top quality players and if you do get some you end up paying huge wages for them to offset the lack of CL. We've been there and I don't want to be back there ever again.

Say United and Liverpool we're in for Dybala next season and the only difference is Liverpool are in CL and United are in EL I'd say he'd be more likely to sign for us. The top players want to be in CL.

Klopp is so passive during games it's a bit worrying - Poch saw how his initial 3-5-2 was failing to deal with TAA and Robertson so changed things and shut down the Liverpool flanks. It was obvious that the Hendo/Gini/Milner setup was not only unable to add to the attack in any meaningful way it was not even able to match Spurs depleted trio for strength, knockdowns, runs and simple effective passing.

It's always a good sign though, to win in the face of adversity.

Yeah it was a worry and intensely annoying how the game turned against us and he waited so long to make any changes to combat it, not even subs, just a tactical move which I think he made just before they scored but the game was long since gone to sh!t by then.

We won't keep bailing ourselves out of trouble so it'd be nice to not let ourselves get in it before we react.

Spurs missed a sitter at 1-1 and should of won the game with the counters and Allison(overrated-hyped) should of came out for that one on one easy chance maybe he had too much time and space to think about it thats being kind with excuse but Pool were blessed Spurs absoluted gifted them it the with the OG last min, but anfield crowd sucked it in.
City have game in hand still think City will it unless ladyluck evens itself out with Stevie G slipp years ago and karma and Pool will get abit of luck to win wudnt rule it out but just like if City get injuries or just focus on champs lge more and they slip up but I dont think they will and Iv callled every league right from xmas onwards since 2009 so Im usuallly right sorry 'Red Men' calm down lads but best a luck anyway.

Mane was back helping the defenders out quite a lot today. Why the hell weren't the midfielders doing this job? Mane needs to be up top causing havoc.

Fab must start from now on, trent and robbo excellent first half, 2 nd half was a shambles, for a game we had to win for the last 15 mins we couldn't string 2 passes together, fab stuck in more heads and legs in 15mins then the other 3 did in the whole game, vvd block on kanes shot was some defending

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,429 ✭✭✭.G.

I think we'll win it but its not at the "name is on it" stage with me yet. If it truly was our name on it we wouldn't have let slip our numerous healthy points leads or the opportunities to extend those leads. But its Liverpool and we never do anything the easy way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,950 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

How do we go about getting Gomez minutes or resting any of the front 3 its really difficult to get anyone up to speed or anyome a rest when u have to win every game ,
Im guessing Fab starts away to Saints but with who ?

That's how my arse looks after most games these days. The days of the boring controlled 2-0 win seem like an age ago rather than 4 months.
