Looking for a new car.

Hi all, just looking for some opinions and suggestions.

Currently, driving a 2010 1.0 litre Nissan Pixo. I'm 25 and ideally would be looking for a hatchback car.
Looking to change to something more comfortable for longer journeys and because a local mechanic man said 'That's a very soft car, I wouldn't like to be in an accident in that car' re my Pixo.

Unsure of a price range but would be willing to get a loan for a car that's worth it.
Would like a car 141 or younger. I know they are expensive but was looking at a Toyota Yaris or VW Polo/Golf.

What about a hyundai i10/i20.

Ford Focus is good too , great for long journeys and very economical to run . Golf in my opinion are overpriced compared to the focus .
