Driving test and car (ABS light on)

Hi, my son taking his test soon,he is still taking lessons with the instructor but also is insured and drives my car for practice now he may take the test my car but the ABS light is on, car drives and stopped fine,
will this be a problem for the tester?

No, it is highly unlikely that the examiner would allow the test to go ahead with any warning light on.

(Could he use the instructor car?)

Yes he could, instructor said this afternoon he might not be free even though he knew about it 2 months back, he has still 2 lessons paid for which have been booked long before his test by instructor, you would think he would have held one of these back for the test, heard you can pay €100 for a learner car for the test.

Bad idea doing the test in a car you're unfamiliar with. Get the warning light sorted out. No tester will allow you to proceed with a warning light.

Same if your discs are out of date.

No chance they will allow a car with ABS light on for the test. Get fault fixed or get another car for the test.

I'm not joking, when my missus did her test 7 years ago the tester wasn't going to go ahead because the petrol light had just come on. He reluctantly went ahead after a bit of cajoling. There was nearly quarter of a tank of petrol in it.

Will get the ABS sorted, but will have to rebook test for a later date ,he seems more comfortable driving the Zafira.

It's a bit higher up so that probably helps, especially with reversing. My sister and 2 of my brothers passed in my dad's Toyota Picnic.

Got a new hub of Ebay for €40 fixed problem,
have to rebook anyway now he didn't pass,
anyone know if you can find next available dates with out paying first?
