Shelf life of opened engine oil

I have 1 litre of engine oil in the original 5 litre container, left over from the last oil change 6 months ago. The container has been sealed and kept indoors. Is it safe to add this 1 litre of oil to my next oil change?

Yes, after six months indoors in what is presumably a fairly normal environment, it'll be just fine. Belt away.
