How many subscriptions do you currently have?

Not talking about your basic bills - Electricity, Internet, Mobile, Food. But subscriptions that you pay over for monthly mainly for entertainment.

I'm at 4.
- Netflix
- PlayStation Plus (paid yearly for a discount)
- Sports Podcast
- YouTuber my child likes

I had to cop myself on and move all subscriptions to my 2nd current account as things started getting a bit silly. Had to axe Amazon Prime and Fight Pass as I was about to add Eir/BT Sport without thinking of how much they all added up to per month. Am lucky that I can use Sky Sports through the Sky Go app on my TV at no additional cost.

We are in the age of the monthly subscription.

Netflix - Value for money as I watch on 3 devices, in 3 different parts of the country, often on the same day
Sky - No longer value for money as sports content is decreasing month by month (they make it a b*tch to phone and cancel)
Spotfiy - Value for money as the days of CD's are behind us and I am an applephobe.

I suspect that someone somewhere sometime will develop a radical new platform (not really) which will manage your subscription and access to various services for a fixed amount. They should be able to beat direct subscription cost for each once they can get numbers up and can prove that it in reality many people only use each service for a fairly limited number of hours/month.

Considering Now TV but don't know if I can justify the cost.

Don't really need anything after that.

We are indeed, and it’s only likely to become more popular - SaaS it’s called.

I have subs for Sky, YouTube and my employer pays for a couple of other services like online archiving/backup storage providers and Office 365/Windows 10.

Irish Times including some delivery. Times Ireland is free from work. Partner has Spotify.

I still buy CDs and DVDs as patchy availability / content changing across services etc is too annoying.

Keep an eye out around Black Friday and you can get an annual sub for next to nothing. Paid a tenner last year.

I generally use the WEC app though - more expensive, but has way more features for following the race (and the rest of the championship).

I have a lot of subs, Amazon Prime, irishtimes.com, Google Drive, Play Music (comes from my phone credit), Plex pass, Netflix, Ring.com (for our doorbell and floodlight for the back garden). A few more apps and websites too.

Mostly paid annually, so don't know what the monthly cost is.

I tried Netflix for a while but it was full of those awful ****ing superhero films so we got rid of it. Imagine a grown man paying a tenner a month or whatever it is to watch that ****e. Jesus Christ.

Did you know you can upload 50,000 of your personal music files to google music and stream them to you phone when you wish for free! Uploaded over 100GB over the last few days instead of buying a large capacity SD card. Came to 17,000 music files in total, about a third of what's permitted. Chuffed with that.

Got one of those dodgy IPTV services that a Lithuanian lad in work set up for me. It’s feckin’ mighty - all the TV channels, all the sports, thousands of movies and box sets, all the HBO, Netflix, and Amazon Prime stuff uploaded a few hours after broadcast. Even has the dirty channels if that’s your thing. 9 quid a month or something like that.

Netflix, 3 of us use it for the one fee per month and we don't all live together.
Now TV for sport and movies.
Spotify included in my Vodafone sub for 5.99 pm.
Irish Times newspaper.

I quit smoking a couple of years ago and started my now TV sub at that time as a treat and to remind myself that my money was better spent on that than cigs and if I went back on them I'd have to cancel as I couldn't afford both.
Now TV is a lot more entertaining and cheaper than cigs.
