Haha tell me about it! Place was buzzing, was sat next to the Southampton fans which made it even sweeter, shout out to the auld fella who must have been about 75/80 next to me who started screaming "you're getting relegated" at them when we got the winner. :D

If Lukaku is not top class then neither is Auba as has little influence on team play.

Auba is on another level when it comes to finishing chances when compared to Lukaku

    RE: Lukaku

Love the lad. Would happily see him lead the line.

BUT I think we're going to be playing one striker. I think that means one of Rashford or Lukaku gets benched. And I can't see either being happy with that.

I think Rashford is, based on what we've seen so far, Ole's Number 1 striker.

I like Lukaku, but I can't see him wanting to be a bench player, AND I think we'd be better served selling him and bringing in a first team RW player if he does move on. I think that Lukaku hasn't looked thrilled at the prospect of being a backup to Rashford (even if he'd be a brilliant one).

Sancho is a left sided player too though and is being linked heavily. Sessegnon covers leftback and leftwing. Rojo and Sanchez could be removed and replaced by 1 player

Sancho plays most of his football from the right..

    Me personally?

Absolutely not. Mata can be sold to allow Greenwood to move up to accomplish the same objective as an example.

I don't believe he will be underutilized as much as people think. People still have to remember Rashford is still only 21 and there will be times where he has dips.

I also believe that having variability in squad selection in the attack is more acceptable for a team looking to challenge for titles than having variability in defensive & midfield positions.

Defense and midfield should be solid and unchanged for the most but I'm ok with having multiple options in attack. This is why dynamic teams have more of a chance of winning in games where teams setup to contain than teams who are rigid in their structure and refuse to adapt.

I think Lukaku will stay and continue to fight and that healthy competition among the forwards is critical if Utd are going to succeed in the future.

I also see no evidence from him previously to suggest he will moan / complain if benched.

On the last part I would expect Lukaku to play in most games, where he starts on the bench he will still be involved at some point and allowed to earn starts.

Auba is on another level when it comes to finishing chances when compared to Lukaku

    Auba has 4 more goals (16 v 12) from 2 more shots on target (30 v 28).

Auba had 25 more shots in total this season (71 v 46). Not sure about difficulty of chances, xg stats etc but they are hardly worlds apart in conversion terms.

Edit: I just think Lukaku suffers from actually playing for United. Often players playing elsewhere or out of the team get the benefit from United fans (me included) as they are not under as much scrutiny.

Can see Rashford playing wide a lot rather than just central. But with less focus on working back down the field.

Lukaku has again proved his worth the last two games around the box. Rashford is not that type of player and at his best against better sides that are 'playing' and giving him the chance to run at space.

Doesn’t Chong favour his left foot?...if so he would not be an ideal fit as Utds future RW or Right sided forward if he ends up cutting inside most of the time onto his left foot.

Call me old fashioned but no more than with Fellaini he should be told to go and get a haircut!:)

No way Sir Alex would have tolerated Fellaini or Chong’s Barnets.

Past 5 years as its all they had on the site I used

Goal rate per shot I didn't do just on target as I didn't think about it although i think per shot is fairer might not be

    Lukaku 9%, 15%, 22%, 18%, 26%

    Auba 15%, 22% 27%, 26%, 23%

TBH this isn't totally fair either as Auba has years on Lukaku so his stats are from when he should be in his prime and Lukakus not, you could also argue a difference in playing in leagues although Auba was pretty hot last year in hte Premiership (smallish sample size)

I mainly said it from watching them play, Auba is a different class and stand by it he is much calmer and clinical in front of goal when easier chances present themselves.

I was quite surprised with Lukakus very impressive 26% this season and it will be interesting to see if he can keep up a similar rate as the season goes on (I do feel his rate has slightly benefited from coming on late in a few games since Ole joined)

If he can nail down a starting position and continue with a similarish conversion rate I will admit to being wrong on him, as some have said he is only 25 and could improve its just im not overly confident it will happen

Anyone else Google 'Auba' thinking it was a mysterious Football manager player that lads dig up out of nowhere?

This Ajax team, very very good. Can we please go and sign de Ligt. Kid is going to be a superstar. VVD and De Ligt, nice centre backs the Dutch have

It really shouldn’t bother me and someone will be dyin to be outraged by my dislike of his hair but I think he should cut his hair as I think it makes him a target for ridicule and also just because I think being concerned about your hair while playing football is distracting.

I always get annoyed by Shane Long chewing gum throughout a match. I don’t know how it’s not a distraction if not even a minor one.

Hindsight is 20/20 but you'd wonder why we kept Rojo over someone like Blind.

People will say De Ligt ain't ready but he is. We need to buy now instead of in 3yrs time.

A goal like that would make me want to buy De Gea if I was in charge at Real

In fairness, Blind deserved to get more game time too and we got a good price for him relatively speaking. A move to Ajax was probably what he would have wanted as much as us selling him I'd say - probably a 50-50 call. I was sad to see him go though (that hair :D)

I wonder if we will offload Rojo this summer maybe - Everton might look for him again?

Not sure if DDG would have saved that either tbh.
