GDPR - US Company

I am getting emails from a US car company about a PCP plan that some one over there is in.

The email contains a lot of personal information.

I’ve emailed the company, added email to spam but keep getting them. The only thing they haven’t shared is her email address.

    Can GDPR help me here?

It's an EU Regulation so I doubt it

Think the GDPR will be different if it originates from the US rather than Ireland or the EU.

Gdpr is same for all companies who deal with European customers.

I assume you gave a European address.

My guess USA company and the hell with Europe

The data is about a US resident though. GDPR only covers the person who's data is being held if they are or their account is in the eurozone. Sending US data to you in the eurozone by mistake isn't a GDPR breach. It's a pretty big mistake for them to make though and I would expect a legitimate company to do everything they can to protect their clients data with or without GDPR

While there is no federal GDPR-style law in the USA, there are similar laws in individual states.
