    Some nice stats...

    https://twitter.com/StatmanDave/status/1101885639744729088?s=09

@Statman Dave: Andreas Pereira’s game by numbers vs. Southampton: 77% pass accuracy...11 final third passes...6 ball recoveries...2 interceptions...2 fouls suffered...1 assist...1 goal...An absolute rocket of a first PL goal.

Of the 33 goals United have scored under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in all competitions, 18 have been netted by academy graduates. That’s 55% between Rashford, Lingard and Pogba.

Loved this, Bertrand trying to hack Lukaku and just bouncing off him:

Funny outcome, but it was a disgrace of a 'challenge'. Bertrand more paying hommage to Cantona at Selhurst, than trying to win the ball.

I don't think the ref produced a yellow for it after the ball went dead, so hopefully the FA might look at it.

I'll never get this desire to have a go at Pogba after wins over the littlest thing.

Anyway it was great to see Pereira do so well today, especially after his mistake and poor game against Burnley. Ole has eased him back in after that with a sub appearance and a start today. I dread to think what way it would have been handled under Jose, he probably have been publically criticized and some staements about the squad not being good enough for top four to deflect from the tactics.

Instead Ole seems to have great man management skills, they are allowed to take risks on the pitch without fear of public shaming and bad games and mistakes are not the end of starts.

He did, but it was nearly three minutes after before the ball went dead for him to give it.

I'd happily take positions 1-4 in the league today being the final placings at the end of the season...

    Why so?

Isn't Pogba the team's designated penalty taker?
In which case he is absolutely correct to take it

I don't think I'd be alone in thinking that Pogba probably shouldn't be on penalty taking duty anymore.

The notion of a designated penalty taker is a nonsense to begin with, unless it's somebody who scores them every time, which Pogba has struggled with.

He took a poor penalty today which wasn't his first of the season, so Lukaku should have been allowed the opportunity to complete his hat trick.

I firmly believe Pogba's problem with penalties is directly related to his "signature" slow run up,if he just took them properly I'm confident he'd have a greater level of success with them, but he can only be judged on what he's produced from the spot which has been patchy from a player who's perfectly capable of properly testing the keeper from the spot.

    Glazers Out!

I missed all the action today, but was intrigued by how well travelled many posters seemed to be. I'd certainly welcome any further information on the travel agents that these trips were booked through.

It was actually quite entertaining following the game by refreshing this forum though.

If Djemba Djemba was named thrice imagine how good he'd have been!

Was only following the score online today but was always quietly confident we could turn it around after Southampton scored. Can't say I've had that feeling too often in recent years when we've gone behind. The Ole revolution continues!

Not a fan of UTD by any stretch of the imagination but surely they have to give the job to ole gunnar solskjaer on a full time basis? He has been phenomenal so far.

Anyone else notice we had the ball for a good two minutes when Sanchez was down and noone never kicked the ball out for treatment? He must be so loved in the dressing room.

Yeah, noticed that and thought it was bad form as it seems that it could be a serious enough injury..

    .
    You're kidding right?

The purpose of designated takers is to ensure no embarrassing playground style scenes of multiple players all fighting to take the kick. And don't think for a second that wouldn't happen.

Listened on the Radio today but it seems that Dalot may not turn out to be full back at all.

Seems to be a good all round footballer who could easily end up in midfield yet.

Few of the Sothampton lads, who are playing good with their new manager, all sounded like they had good games (Valery, Ward Prowse and Redmond). Happy to get through that game aftet conceding an amazing goal and a free.

Delighted for Lukaku again to score two should give him great confidence and he remains the most likely player to be prolific.

Utd under Mourinho - 26/51 points, 1.53 points per game
Utd under OGS - 32/36 points, 2.67 points per game

OGS has 6 more points already with 5 games in hand.

Could easily watch Andreas Pereira's goal over and over, sweetly struck.

I have 1 hope for the PSG game, no more injuries. I’d rather we field a poorer team and lose 4-0. If we can get over these injuries and have a full squad for the last 9 games then we’ll finish at least 4th.

Having one player taking all penalties is fine if they're always either scoring or at least testing the keeper. There should be at least two regular penalty takers in a side, the notion of professional footballers squabbling like schoolboys is laughable. More players would rather avoid the pressure and responsibility of they were honest.
I can understand why Pogba is being indulged, Solskjaer doesn't want to rock the boat as he's generally playing well for him.
Had that penalty been saved at that time with the scores at 2-2 it would have been extremely costly.
It does feel like we could end up regretting a Pogba penalty at some point.

    Glazers Out!

Havent read much of the thread today so apologies if asked already but

Lukaku surely has to start up front against psg. He's on some run of form. Hos bullish strength might give the psg defence a go and dare i say it his touch to setup a few of his last goals have been good.

    Id almost go
    Martial-Lukaku-Rashford with
    Lukaku and Rashford interchanging.
    Thoughts?

(Delighted for the big man btw, always puts in a effort even when he plays and touches like dog ****, fair play to the big man for keeping on going)

Just done arbitrary research so open to correction but I think I have worked out that Lukakuhas scored more PL goals by the age of 25 than Rooney managed at a same age.

Has reached double-figures in the league seven seasons in a row, and twice for Anderlecht before moving to Chelsea. Rooney's longest consecutive streak is eleven, and he hit double-figures thirteen times in all.

His first touch may resemble that of an elephant on occasion, and his form and finishing may be streaky, but the trajectory is there for him to at least match Rooney's record should he stay in situ.

Id go strong to be fair aginst psg, one of the best teams in the world on the biggest stage in football. Lets go to paris and give them a tough game.

We thought we'd find it hard with our weakend squad the last 2 weeks but we come up trumps so no worries there. Lads are stepping up and are honestly playing for ole.

Lets go to paris and try and fkim smash em.
