I think that is very nasty of you because I am not a troll. I have had issues in the past but it doesn't make me a troll

You're asking for help then getting angry and being rude to people. That's what trolls do. Why bother asking for our help if you have no interest in actually getting a job and arent prepared to take any action to get one?

You need a reality check, buddy.

Best of luck with your studies and attitude

Some people I have spoken to might remember me and they have been very kind to me. Plus I have quite alot of issues going on

It's actually hard to tell who is a troll on boards.

A lot of people with emotional or psychological issues use this website, so their posts can be erratic.

We do know though, for a fact, that there is a troll who targets this forum. They are constantly getting banned. But they just come back.

Issues are absolutely no excuse to be rude or ignorant.

Ha maybe it says alot for you lot when you don't know what my qualifications are when all you lot just think its A Levels. Well you know what IT ISN'T

You are wasting our time. Why ask for advice when you are too pig headed and arrogant to take it? Look at the effort people have gone to here for you.

A mate from college supported himself with shifts in McDonalds, and he was studying for a Biotechnology degree. He didn’t think he was above this work and wasn’t embarrassed to say he worked there.Since then, he has pursued a successful career in Life Sciences in the UK.
Honestly, just get over it, you’re only holding yourself back. There is nothing shameful about supporting yourself with a fast food job.

Other uni friends worked in cafés, supermarkets, call centers, bars, or gave grinds. After a few years’ work experience, you can leave off McDonalds.

OK, let's take a step back. You came on here asking for advice in finding a job.

If I understand correctly, you're pulling yourself up by your bootstraps (well done), and are now making up for a lack of formal education earlier in your life by mapping out a path that will allow you to enter university via alternative routes - again, well done.

In the meantime you're looking for a job to earn some cash while you study. Good idea.

At this point you're essentially looking for a job that will:
    - Earn you money so that you can save for your further education
    - Have something to put on your CV

Whoopsadaisy gave some great advice about your current CV in her post.

You need to rethink your attitude to the types of jobs you are qualified for at the moment. Taking a job now to get you through the rest of your education does not mean you'll be in that job for the rest of your life. Do not start comparing yourself to your step-siblings. It's a pointless comparison. Having a job, regardless of what it is, is better than not having a job.

As everyone has pointed out, McDonald's is a well known, well respected company. Having it on your CV in future will demonstrate that you can work for a large multinational corporation, in a fast paced job, following corporate procedures and fitting in well with the culture. If I were you, I'd go crawling back to them and ask for another chance at an interview. If you can start with them now, and do well there, it's possibly a job that you can keep throughout your time at university, which would be very convenient in terms of having an income. You've got 6 months to make a good impression there, and by working hard, they may then be willing to be more flexible with your hours and work around your college schedule come September.

Main advice at the moment is sort out your CV, and don't think you're "too good" for any role. You're looking for a job to put you through university, not a long term career (though McDonald's can also offer careers as well if you decided to go down that route).

There's nothing wrong with working in McDonald's. I did it when I was a student. They were good employers. And I did learn some things - clean as you go, food handling, etc.

Yes I know there is nothing wrong with mcdonalds

Try permanently switching it off.... Your way too far gone at this stage to have a personality.

that is not fair one little bit. I have had issues which i think i am working towards getting better. I have never had a girlfriend before, never kissed a girl. never held a girls hand and it does make me very upset when i have stepsiblings that have

Lots of people (I would think THE majority) work part time while in college....I did for 4 years.

    but your not 26

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,590 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

    but your not 26
I am not....but what difference does your age make?
Lots of people go to college at different ages.....when applying tell them your a student and you only want part time work...its not rocket science.
I think its pretty decent they seemingly want to take you on despite the fact you are 26 and have never had a job.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,519 ✭✭✭GalwayGrrrrrl

    “ you’re not 26”
Nonsense - I work part time and am studying for a masters degree and I’m in my 40s. I’m not wasting any more of my time replying here as you’ve obviously no intention of getting off your ar*e and getting a job.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,436 ✭✭✭dartboardio

    Anyway,

you should be more ashamed of never having worked at 26 rather than working in Mcdonalds..
you've had this post up for days and still done nothing about getting a job despite the tons of advice you've been given.

continue on being a waster so
