It's the same product they "launched" today. They just received investment so that they can expand.

Nobody has asked the most important question. Is J.J Thompson coming back?

Any idea if all new masts are going to be this 5G? Signed up a few weeks ago and our new mast went live today and I'm just waiting on being connected

So it says my eircode can get the 5g. I'm currently in contract with them. For next 6 months. I'm in Knockraha near glanmire. Wonder is it worth the upgrade. I could certainly use a speed bump. It's rubbish currently in the evening. If I could get a stable 20mbps between 5pm and 9pm I would consider it. Fibre should be available soon. Next 6 months maybe.

only if there is a way to post without having to actually join Facecrook!

Fair usage is 1TB per month so about 33GB per month.

A technical question for the experts here. Clearly, 4G broadband is limited, once the number of active users being served by a given mast reaches a certain level. So, Imagine are going with 5G. Which everybody here says will have the same limitation as the 4G masts (might be an improvement, but will still reach saturation and slow to a crawl at peak usage times).

What is the cause of this limitation? Is it something inherent in the capacity of 4G/5G, or is it caused by limitations of the fibre supplying the masts?

For example, say a 5G mast has a catchment of 400 houses, within range and line of sight. If the fibre back haul serving that mast has the capacity to supply 150 Mbits second to all 400 houses simultaneously, could a 5G mast be designed to cope with that demand?

If not, then Imagine are bluffing.

How do you know what the upgrade areas are ?

BYW - I don't think they are really enforcing the limit any more. My XBox One decided to do a load of upgrades recently and the usage for the day for my house was 46GB and there was no email / throttling......

Is the 5G equipment Imagine is using the contentious Huawei equipment banned in the US, NZ and Austrailia?

    .
I filled in my details under "Check Availability" on their website which they have updated to proclaim the rollout of 5G.

Yeah there has been anecdotal evidence on this and/or not enforcing between 12am-7am but would be nice to see it in writing. Can see the new T&Cs at all on the updated website so not trusting it 1TB/month yet...

Didn't realise that had been updated - it's there on that doc:
    Fair Usage Policy – Broadband
The fair usage limit for data usage on the Broadband Service in any one month is 1TB. This limit is not
to be exceeded. If you exceed the fair usage limit, we will notify you by phone, text or email to advise
you that you have exceeded the fair usage limit and request that you modify your usage behaviour.
If you subsequently exceed the fair usage limit Imagine reserves the right to suspend or terminate
    your Service(s).

If they terminate the contract do all payments stop then?

If so it might be a means of cancelling the contract ....... :D

Previously you could cancel at any time for a fee of 100 EUro, but not sure if that has changed....
